Welcome to your oasis in Old North Durham! Inspired by Sarah P. Duke Gardens, our charming 100-year-old home offers a perfect blend of history and modern design. Just a 5-min walk to Central Park and 10 mins to downtown, this kid- and pet-friendly retreat features a backyard with a fire pit, lounge chairs, and a patio. Meticulously decorated by a renowned designer, this inviting home is ready to welcome you. Make it your home away from home!
I just wanted to clarify the setup so everything is clear before arrival. The home is a duplex, but your unit is completely separate and private. You will have your own private space and entrance. The only shared areas are the small stairway area and the backyard/hot tub area. The setup is similar to a boutique hotel where you have your own private unit, but a few common areas are shared. Guest overlap is usually very minimal, and most guests book for the location, privacy, and romantic setup. The hot tub is open 24 hours, so you can enjoy it whenever works best for you. We are also right downtown and next to the social district, which makes it a great spot for a relaxing stay. We would love to host you, but I always like to make sure guests understand the layout before arrival.

Cute place to stay with all that we needed. The hot tub was part of the reason we picked the house so that we could relax at the end of the night and it was great! Cute backyard with fire pit and seating. Close to Duke campus.
I spent 5 nites at this location and it was delightful. Exactly as pictured. Quiet, spacious and Dog Friendly! The yard was lovely and you're encouraged to make use of it. Nice Adirondack chairs around the fire pit in a lush lawn. Doggie bags were supplied! So were dog bowls should you need! And there's a really sweet park a very short walk away for the hound if you want. Derik, the manager, was great. Prompt messaging, clear instructions and always available if anything comes up. I am hoping this location is available next time im in town. Will use them again hands down!

Awww thank you for such an amazing review. It’s guest like you that make it worth hosting
Quick communication, easy book, easy entry. Hot tub was nice. This is a duplex and it’s up a flight of stairs I didn’t realize that when I booked but the property was nice and clean.
If I could give Derik and this home more than five stars, I absolutely would. From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping into a beautifully designed dollhouse. Knowing the home was built in 1926 made me appreciate it even more—you can truly feel its history and charm while still enjoying every modern comfort. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, from the stunning vintage-inspired décor to the beautifully set dining table. It had the warmth and character of a bygone era while remaining incredibly comfortable and welcoming. The backyard deserves its own five-star review. The hot tub was absolute perfection after a long day, the lounge chairs were unbelievably comfortable, and the native plants created such a peaceful atmosphere. The mural on the wall was a gorgeous artistic touch that made the entire space feel like a private retreat. We found ourselves spending just as much time outside as we did inside. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, and very walkable, with parks nearby. Derik recommended visiting Duke Gardens, and I’m so glad he did—it was absolutely stunning and one of the highlights of our trip.My dog absolutely loved the fenced yard and settled in just as quickly as we did, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Most importantly, Derik was an exceptional host—friendly, responsive, & full of great local recommendations. This was one of the most memorable Vrbo stays I’ve ever had, and I will absolutely be back. I can’t recommend this home highly enough
