About this property
River Views | Private Hot Tub | The Willow Cabin
Where field meets forest near the Union River, The Willow is a classic Maine camp with modern comforts and some accessible features.
It sleeps four: a queen bedroom on the main floor and a queen bed in the loft. A wall of windows brings in the morning light, and 1.5 miles of forest trails start just outside the door. Private and wooded among the trees, and still only minutes from Ellsworth and Acadia National Park.
Inside, the compact kitchen has an induction cooktop, a mini-oven, and a dishwasher, along with a pour-over setup and organic Maine-roasted ground coffee. There`s a wood stove and a heat pump, a washer-dryer, a desk, fiber internet, a smart projector and screen, and games for a rainy afternoon. Beds are made up with all-cotton Oeko-Tex linens, bath products are Public Goods, and a heat lamp warms the spot just outside the tiled shower.
Outside, there`s a private year-round hot tub, a smokeless fire pit, a propane grill, and plenty of seating, plus a hammock from April through October. Parking is right at the cabin, with a J1772-compatible EV charger.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome. We just ask that dogs stay leashed when outside and off the furniture and beds; a dog bed is available on request.
Accessibility: the main-floor bedroom has a transfer-height bed with clear access, and the bathroom has grab bars and a fixed shower seat. Paths and parking are uneven and unpaved, and the cabin is not fully ADA-compliant. The loft is reached by a ship`s ladder, which may not suit small children or guests with mobility concerns. Please reach out before booking with any specific needs -- glad to talk them through.
Whether the plan is adventures in Acadia or a few quiet days of rest by the river, The Willow is ready to give you shelter.
Current rates reflect a discount while Arbor Camp grows, and you may occasionally see or hear construction elsewhere on the grounds.

HOT TUB GUIDELINES • Please shower before using the hot tub. • No glass or breakables in or near the tub. • Cover the tub when not in use to retain heat and keep out debris. • Children must be supervised in or around the hot tub at all times. • Use care when entering and exiting; surfaces may be slippery.
FIREWOOD & FIRE PITS • Shorter logs are for indoor wood stoves (seasonal use). • Longer logs are for outdoor fire pits. • Fire-starting materials and instructions are provided.
You MUST crack open a window before lighting a fire indoors. A fire extinguisher is located in the kitchen area. Observe any posted local burn restrictions.
QUIET HOURS Quiet begins at 10:00 PM to preserve the stillness of the woods and the comfort of all guests.
TOWELS & BEDDING Extra towels are provided in the bedroom closet.
CHILDREN & FAMILIES Families are welcome. Please bring your own portable crib or pack-and-play, as we do not provide these due to insurance reasons.
SMOKING Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Please dispose of materials safely.
Smoking or vaping inside any cabin or treehouse is not permitted. If indoor smoking or vaping results in odor, residue, or damage, guests are responsible for the actual cost of cleaning, deodorizing, repair, or replacement, plus a 10% administrative fee. If remediation requires the unit to be taken offline, documented lost revenue may also be charged.
PETS Select units welcome well-behaved dogs. Dogs must be leashed outdoors and may not use beds or upholstered furniture. We are happy to provide a dog bed upon request.
By paying the pet fee(s), you also agree that dogs will not be on beds or upholstered furniture, and that you will not use the shower or bathroom to bathe your dog. If evidence shows a dog has been on beds or furniture or been bathed in the bathroom (including excessive hair, stains, or odor), a $120 additional cleaning fee will be charged. If remediation exceeds $120, guests remain responsible for the documented actual cost.
Dogs must not be left barking in the unit. Sound carries across the property and other cabins. A dog that barks when left alone needs to come along.
KEEP INDOOR THINGS INDOORS Blankets, pillows, the projector and screen, and indoor furniture are not to be left outside. Weather and wildlife ruin them fast. If you bring something out for the evening, bring it back in before you turn in or head out.
EXTRA CLEANING Guests are expected to leave the kitchen, grill, cookware, and premises in reasonable condition.
If extraordinary cleaning is required beyond standard turnover—including excessive food waste, heavily soiled cookware, or misuse of the grill—an additional charge of up to $150 may apply. If costs exceed $150, guests are responsible for the documented actual cost.
FIRE SAFETY & EMERGENCIES A fire extinguisher and first aid kit are provided in each unit.
For emergencies, dial 911 and provide the property address listed in your arrival information.

Arbor Camp began in 2022, when three friends came together to build a quiet place in the woods. Thirty acres along the Union River in Ellsworth offered the space—and the inspiration—for something lasting. The project was shaped by Maine’s camp tradition: simple, seasonal dwellings that invite stillness, comfort, and connection to the land.
From the start, the idea was simple: to create a place that feels good to step into. Each of us brought different experience—design, building, creative work—but shared a clear vision: spaces that are well made, deeply comfortable, and in tune with their surroundings. Arbor Camp grew from that collaboration. The result is a quiet retreat in the Maine woods, where time slows and the beauty of the landscape comes steadily into view.
Why they chose this property
Cabins and treehouses at Arbor Camp are spaced for privacy and quiet, and walking trails were cut by hand to follow the natural shape of the land.
Wildlife is part of daily life here. Songbirds call from the canopy. Heron and eagles pass overhead. Deer move through the understory, and turkeys wander the clearings. Mushrooms—chanterelles, black trumpets, and others—rise through the forest floor in season.
What makes this property unique
Tucked among 30 acres of private woodlands, each of Arbor Camp’s cabins and treehouses is designed as a place for restful delight in the Maine woods. Expansive windows frame views of sky and pines and the river beyond. Our unique dwellings stand apart, designed for you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest in beautiful comfort. Unwind in your private hot tub after days spent exploring Acadia National Park and all the cultural and culinary offerings of Downeast Maine. Read a book in the hammock, roast a marshmallow over the smokeless fire pit. Sleep on the beds we’ve built by hand from trees that grew right here in these woods. We’ve made a place for you to rest and delight in the beauty of the forest.
