Golf, biking, ATV trails, and Lake Charlevoix all summer. Boyne Mountain and Boyne City are practically next door.
→ Message with any questions. Happy to help you plan!
Imagine starting your day not in a cramped, dated motel room, but in a tricked-out 43-foot RV of your own: the air crisp, the trees lining your site swaying, and whatever brought you to Northern Michigan waiting just minutes down the road. This isn't just a place to crash. It's your basecamp, for the golf, the water, the trails, the snow, or just the fire pit and a change of scenery.
★ Your Sleeping Sanctuary ★
The queen bed doesn't just look comfortable, it delivers: a hybrid gel mattress under hotel-quality, 100% Long Staple Cotton bedding, with a stack of pillows so you can pick your firmness before you crash. Need more room? Two memory-foam pull-out loveseats add flexible sleeping space, enough for 4 adults, 3 adults and 2 kids, or 2 adults and 4 kids.
★ The Heart of the Home — Your Kitchen ★
If your idea of an RV kitchen is a mini-fridge, three mismatched forks and a plastic fast-food knife, you'll be sadly disappointed. This one's fully stocked and ready for real cooking, not survival rations. Whip up a quick breakfast before the big day, or a full dinner after one. Gather around the dining table for four, or head to the gazebo and eat at the screened-in picnic table instead: same food, better view.
★ A Refreshing Retreat — The Bathroom ★
Bright, clean, and stocked with everything you actually need: hair dryer, plush towels, makeup-removal cloths, the works. The shower's roomy, and the hot water kicks in fast enough that you won't be doing the cold-water shuffle.
★ Cozy Living & Entertainment Hub ★
Sink into the reclining loveseat and let the day settle. It's a great place to create tomorrow's plan, challenge someone to a board game, or just. do. nothing. The 48" Smart TV runs real, paid-for streaming through surround sound and a subwoofer that actually thumps, no login screens begging for your own password.
★ Step Outside — 10 Acres to Roam ★
Trees line two sides of the site, giving you real separation from the road without pretending you're in the middle of nowhere. This place has company: deer, birds, and whatever else wanders through. Don't be surprised if you spot something right from your own site.
★ Outdoor Living ★
Coffee under the awning to start the morning. As dusk settles, the fire pit takes over: shared laughter, heartfelt stories, s'mores, and a little live song whenever someone reaches for the guitar.
★ Ample Parking ★
Room for all your toys: trucks, trailers, ATVs, bikes, boats, snowmobiles, jet skis. Bring it all.
★ You Should Know ★
This is a working property, not a polished resort, and that's exactly why it's priced the way it is. The barn next to the RV is a well-loved original structure with weathered siding, and a couple of spots on the grounds are in the works. None of that touches your stay. The RV is incredibly clean, comfortable, and fully set up: see what guests actually say below.
★ Why Boyne ★
Northern Michigan's four-season playground, and you're minutes from the middle of it: championship golf, real hiking and mountain bike trails, DNR-managed ORV routes, and the Boyne River, Jordan River, and Lake Charlevoix all within reach. Wineries and a distillery worth the detour. And festivals practically every month from spring through fall: the National Morel Mushroom Festival kicks things off in May, The Best 4th in the North and Boyne Thunder carry summer through July, the Flywheelers Festival and Boyne Falls' Polish Fest hit in August, and by autumn there's Boyne City's Harvest Festival and the Charlevoix Apple Festival.
★ What Guests Say ★
"Really fun layout and a great place to relax that feels like camping without hardcore camping. RV was very large and clean and bed was very comfortable." — Shawn I, Vrbo, Jul 20, 2026
"The RV location is the best. We were able to visit 2 state parks (Petoskey and Young) and visit Petoskey downtown, Harbor beach, Charlevoix, Boyne downtown. We loved Gilda's bakery and Petoskey Farms Winery." — Elit C, Airbnb, Jul 5, 2026
"Very comfortable and clean — an excellent experience. Really hope to stay here again in the future." — Elton C, Booking, Dec 17, 2025
"Doug's space was incredible! It was even bigger and more spacious than I anticipated. My mom and I stayed here while doing some hiking on the North Country Trail and we'll definitely be back. The space was extremely clean and Doug was the most responsive host I've ever had." — Lexi W, Airbnb, Oct 26, 2025
"A good mattress is very important to me and that one is. It has plenty of room inside to walk around, you don't feel cramped... we would highly recommend Doug's 5th wheel and will definitely stay there again next time we're in the area." — Jack B, Airbnb, Oct 24, 2025

About the host
Hosted by Doug Mack
Hey there!
I could give you the typical, boring host bio about loving travel, but that's not why I'm here. I fell in love with short-term rentals from my very first stay in Savannah, Georgia, 10 years ago. Ever since, I've realized no two short-term rentals are made the same. It quickly becomes obvious which hosts are in it for the money, which ones just don't 'get it', and which are truly in it for the guest.
The moment you walk in the door of one of my properties, you'll know my why.
What that means for you: I won't settle for anything less than an impeccably clean home, incredibly comfortable mattresses, and high-quality bedding. Everything your body touches, and even what it doesn't, gets removed and replaced with fresh ones before you arrive, from and including the mattress protector up.
Whether you're staying in one of our retro campers, luxury RVs, a neighborhood home, or a lakefront retreat, you'll notice the attention to detail, the little things that leave you thinking: Wow, I've never seen that in a short-term rental. What a difference!
And while I trust my cleaners, they're human, so nearly every stay gets independently inspected by a third party before you walk in. That kind of standard comes from 30 years of building businesses, where you learn fast that "good enough" isn't good enough.
So, if we ever miss something, let me know, and I'll make it right.
Life is short. Life is now. Travel safe. Travel often.
With gratitude, Doug
I'm a dreamer at my core, an adventurer, and a wee bit dog crazy. I coach entrepreneurs, STR hosts, and personal development, too, because building better people builds better businesses.
I chased full-time travel for a bit, tried Florida, and realized what I actually want is real seasons and memorable guest experiences right where I call home: Northern MI. Come stay with me.
Why they chose this property
Everything Northern Michigan draws people for is closer than you'd think. Here's exactly how close:
✔ Avalanche Preserve: 10 minutes ✔ Boyne Valley Trailway (paved): 10 minutes ✔ Hill Nature Preserve: 12 minutes ✔ Boyne Forest Trail (mountain bike singletrack): ~13 minutes ✔ North Country Trail (Thumb Lake Rd access): ~12 minutes ✔ North Country Trail (Springvale Rd access): ~18 minutes
★ ORV/Powersports ★
✔ Spring Brook Pathway Trailhead (Gaylord State Forest): 14 minutes ✔ Springvale Road Powersports Parking Trail Head (Tomahawk MCT/ATV trails): 29 minutes
★ Fall Colors ★
✔ SkyBridge Michigan (Boyne Mountain): 5 minutes ✔ Tunnel of Trees (M-119): ~28 minutes ✔ Mackinac Island (to the ferry): 60 minutes ✔ M-22 Scenic Highway: 75 minutes
What makes this property unique
This isn't a hotel room, isn't a tent, and it sure as heck isn't your parents' 1984 pop-up camper with the leaky canvas. It's a real bed, a real kitchen, a real living room with recliners and surround sound, a real bathroom, and a real fire pit, all in your own separate space away from the main house.
Because this property sits right in the middle of Northern Michigan's biggest draws, golf, water, hiking, festivals, fall color, snow, you're never far from whatever brought you here in the first place. Whether that's the North Country Trail, Boyne Mountain, or Lake Charlevoix, your basecamp is minutes away, not an hour.
This place isn't for everyone, and that's the point. It's for people who'd rather be outside than in a lobby, who'd take a fire pit over a continental breakfast every time, and who showed up with a truck full of gear because they actually plan to use it. If that's you, you'll feel it the second you walk in.
