Nice location in Eagles Mere
Renter could have prepared the house a bit better. The frig was full of old food, tenants clothes were hanging everywhere, and it was a few days before we got a toaster that was listed as available. There was no info sheet with garbage schedule, beach chair location, had to write landlord for wifi info, etc. Pictures in advertisement showed a dining room table but this is no longer there and there is a small table for two with a printer on it. So sit down meals for 6 was impossible except when the weather permited us to eat outside. Landlord was helpful when contacted and the bones of the house are great. Just a little prep before renting would really have been helpful to make us feel more at home.
The perfect cozy cabin to call our “home away from home!”
My husband and I rented this beautiful property for a month-long getaway in the mountains! It was stocked with everything we needed for adventuring, cooking, relaxing, and more. The location was a very easy walk into town, to the local hiking trails, and to the beach. Mary was wonderful to work with — so accommodating! We hope to come back to visit again soon! 😃
Lovely cabin in a beautiful setting. The owner was extremely open to answering questions, and very friendly and responsive. All the comforts of home! And it really feels like a home. Lovely back deck. My bed was comfortable. The kitchen was fairly completely equipped (though I brought my own skillet, and I am glad I did, as I could only find heavy iron skillets in the cabin, which I don’t really know how to use). We went hiking and canoeing, walked into the center of Eagles Mere, and generally had a wonderful time in this idyllic spot.
This was a short getaway with our adult children and we had a wonderful time! Although it was the middle of May the weather was chilly at night and Mary made sure that we had plenty of firewood. The bedding for myself was too hard, but an extra mattress cover helped. There were plenty of linens, kitchen supplies and it was a delightful stay in beautiful Eagles Mere. We hiked two days and loved Ricketts Glen Falls, but also had a great time at The Worlds End. Best of wishes Mary!
Charming cabin with all the amenities needed for a perfect weekend getaway. It was super clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and so cozy to enjoy family time by the wood burning stoves. The house is perfectly positioned near the Eagles Mere Nature Conservancy trails, the town center, and short drive to Worlds End and Ricketts Glen state parks. The owner was super easy to work with and we look forward to more visits to Eagle Mere.

Wonderful stay for the whole family!
I was looking for a place to have the family together for a “less hectic” holiday week; this cabin was perfect! Mary, the owner, was a delight to work with and patiently responded to my emails and questions; she even arranged for her caretaker to hang Christmas lights around the porch, and to place various decorations throughout the cabin. We woke up to snow on Christmas Day, and had a lovely time making a big breakfast and then playing games by the fire.
We found the village of Eagles Mere to be delightful; the residents all waved as we either walked or drove by, and we were greeting Brittany (in the town’s general store) by name on day two. We could see that Eagles Mere would be a fabulous place to visit in any season.
The cabin itself is beautiful, very spacious but warm and cozy at the same time. The kitchen is well-stocked, and everyone slept well in the comfortable beds. We never did figure out the TV system (I believe it is DVD’s-only), and there were issues with wi-fi, but frankly it was great to have everyone “disconnect” for the week and engage in books, games and outside activities (despite the freezing temperatures, we did enjoy several walks around the lake).
We had a wonderful stay, and hope to return to the area next summer. We would not hesitate to rent this cabin again!
