Cozy river house near downtown Grand Rapids!

Just a short drive north of Downtown Grand Rapids, this quaint little cottage on the river is cozy and comfortable, perfect for a couple or small group.

This home located on the Grand River and has recently been renovated in 2024. The water is on a well but treated with a newly installed water softener system, however, the water table can cause the water to have a sulfur smell at times. A Culligan water dispenser is provided for drinking. The home can comfortably sleep 4 with plenty of room for parking. The kitchen is ready for use with basic essentials and new appliances installed in 2024. There’s a large deck, grill, and basketball hoop. You can fish from the riverbank or launch your boat at one of the nearby parks. The home offers plenty of privacy for a relaxing experience. This home is within walking distance from LMCU Ballpark, AJ's Family Fun Park, and White Pine Trail. There are great breweries, restaurants and shopping nearby.

This is a very cute cottage right on the river. Great location. We were able to enjoy fireworks from the ballpark next door. So check to see if there is a game night when you are there and don't miss sitting on the deck and viewing the fun fireworks. The well water does have a sulfur smell, but it really wasn't bad and the host provides a water bottle station for drinking water.

Cozy cottage off the Grand River, fishing & kayaking everyday. Location is perfect with attractions and restaurants abound. Hosts were wonderful, this was a quick last minute booking and trip for us, and they accommodated our request for early check in.

Homemade Rat traps, moldy outdoor furniture, ancient window air conditioners that were dirty, and a scary neighborhood behind an industrial area with an abandoned house next door, overgrown weeds and bushes, and only a few other houses around. The inside was clean for the most part. The washer was covered in rust tho so don’t drink the water! The deck was in poor shape we did not stay there as we did not feel comfortable doing so.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry you did not feel comfortable with the property and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention. We do want to clarify that you left on the day of arrival and did not stay at the property. Had you contacted us before leaving, we would have been happy to address any concerns that were within our control right away. Anything reported as dirty has since been thoroughly cleaned. The home is on well water, so mineral levels can naturally be higher at times depending on the water table. The water is treated with a water softener, and we also provide a water dispenser for guests’ convenience. Because the home is located along the river, mice and insects can unfortunately be more common. The “homemade rat traps” are actually pet-safe deterrents, and we also have a professional pest control company that provides regular maintenance to help manage these issues. We also want to clarify that the photo of the “abandoned” house is the neighboring property, which we do not own or control. There are many homes along the road, and while we cannot control neighboring properties, we consider this to be a safe neighborhood in a beautiful setting along the river. The deck is in good condition and was professionally stained two summers ago. We take pride in maintaining the property and providing a clean, comfortable stay. We respect that the property may not have been what you were looking for, but we wish you had given us the opportunity to address your concerns before leaving. We have had many guests thoroughly enjoy their stays, as reflected in our many positive reviews, and we will continue doing our best to provide a great experience for our guests.

The house is adorable. It had everything we needed. The location was great for our purposes of the different places we needed to go around Grand Rapids. The only downside was the horrible sulfur smell from all the taps and shower. The odor emanated throughout the entire house. We understood the why from the recent flooding but it made for a very uncomfortable stay. The communication was good with the owner.

The cottage was clean, well maintained and cozy. Off the beaten path and peaceful and only a 10 minutes drive to Downtown Grand Rapids. The well water is mentioned in the listing and is very noticeably eggy but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. The porch was a perfect spot to have coffee while looking out over the calm and gorgeous river each morning. Cozy, quaint and just what we needed for a weekend away.

What a wonderful stay! This cozy home by the river was the perfect getaway—clean, comfortable, and incredibly relaxing. The household in general was very clean and comfortable. The only negative was the sulfar smell when using the shower but otherwise our stay was very comfortable.
