Meet Your Home Away from Home

Our gorgeous, artistically-renovated waterfront home features five bedrooms and three full bathrooms in Linden! Relax on the deck with a built-in hot tub or gather around the fire pit next to the lake for cozy evenings (bring your own kindling & firewood)! If you're looking for a thrill, try out our cold plunge and our barrel sauna! The house is on the Shiawassee River which is a quiet, serene estuary that feeds into Lake Ponemah (though isn't accessible by boat, see more about lake access and boat rentals in the "Lake" section below). We have a dock with two paddleboards, two kayaks, and life jackets for the whole family. Our backyard fire pit and sitting area, along with large yard, provide a wonderful setting for entertaining or as a secluded escape. Cook for the whole family in our gorgeous entertaining living room + kitchen area (or grill and enjoy the sunset on the deck) and roast s'mores in the fire pit after! This is the perfect spot for any gathering or getaway!

The kitchen, dining room, living room, stacked laundry set, primary bedroom and bathroom suite, two guest bedrooms and an additional shared guest bathroom are all located on the main level. An additional two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and our laundry room are located in the basement down a full flight of stairs.

Enjoy a seamless check-in experience with keyless digital access. Check-in anytime that fits your schedule, after 4:00 pm. If you’d like an early check-in, shoot us a message the day before your stay. If no other guest is checking out, you’re welcomed to check-in anytime!

Lake

The Shiawassee River runs behind our property and offers a peaceful, scenic backdrop for your stay. Unlike a busy lakefront, the river here feels quiet and private—perfect for watching wildlife, sipping morning coffee, or launching a paddleboard or kayak right from the shoreline. Guests looking for motorized water fun can rent pontoons, jet skis, or fishing boats from nearby marinas on Lake Ponemah, Lobdell Lake, and Silver Lake. From there, you can navigate through the connected chain of lakes and even reach stretches of the Shiawassee River.

Please note: boat access under Ripley Bridge is limited due to low clearance, so larger vessels can’t pass through, which prevents access to our portion of lake. Kayaks, paddleboards, and small fishing boats are the most practical way to explore the river directly, while rental pontoons and larger boats are best enjoyed on the open lakes themselves. This unique setup means you get the best of both worlds—serenity on the river and full access to Michigan’s famous inland lakes just minutes away.

Sink into soft, plush memory foam mattresses, hypoallergenic down alternative microfiber comforter, crisp clean linens, and extra blankets for the winter in each of our bedrooms. Stay rested with blackout drapes in each bedroom.

In addition to the one (1) king bed and four (4) queen beds, our space features a queen size air mattress. Plenty of extra linens and pillows are available to ensure groups of any size have a comfortable, restful stay.

Expectations

99% of guests are visiting family, friends, on a work trip, or just exploring town. For anyone who intends to have a party, disturb the neighborhood, or in any other way violate our house rules, we want to make clear that:

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

Parking

Our driveway fits up to three cars in tandem plus one car in our garage.

Please note there’s no street parking on our street. If you need more parking space, there is extra free street parking available on nearby streets west and east of us!

Electric Vehicles: Our home is equipped with a ChargePoint Level 2 Garage Charger, which works with almost all electric vehicles including Chevrolet Volt and Bolt EV, Hyundai Kona and Ioniq, Kia NIRO, Nissan LEAF, Toyota Prius Prime, BMW i3, Honda Clarity, Chrysler Pacifica, and Jaguar I-PACE. Note for Tesla owners: if you own a Tesla, you will have to bring your adapter. Charger is located outside by the side door to the kitchen, in front of the garage.

Entry

The home is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock on the front door. To enter, type the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, type that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

Our Availability

We are available whenever you need! Please feel free to reach out via the app or website you booked on with any specific questions. For any health emergencies, please dial 911. If a system malfunctions (i.e., hot water not functioning or a light has gone out), please send us a message on the app or website you booked on and we will be sure to address it in as short a time as possible (we usually respond within a few minutes). We also have handymen, electricians, plumbers, and landscapers with whom we work, so for any extenuating circumstances, we will happily bring them out to solve your issues post haste!

Extra Sleeping Arrangements

Air Mattress: Designed for camping, our air mattress is extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate.

Extra Linens: In a marked storage bin, you will find extra bath towels and hand towels, pillowcases, a comforter, and an extra set of sheets for the air mattress. Please grab a few pillows from the beds to use for the air mattress (each bed comes with 4 pillows).

House Rules

We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules:

- No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know.
- Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm.
- Please leave your shoes at the door.
- No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies.
- No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky.
- If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair.
- Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help.

Getting Around

The house is perfectly located for walking or a quick drive to downtown Linden, Silver Lake, Lake Ponemah, and Fenton. Roughly a 20-minute drive to Brighton, a 50-minute drive to Ann Arbor, and a 45-minute drive to the Woodward Corridor.
