MidMod Minnesota Lakehouse | Private Dock, Cedar Sauna
Just outside Grand Rapids, Minnesota, this stunning mid-century lakehouse is set on 30 private acres. Every aspect of this property orients you towards connection with the land, yourself, one another and deep rest. Wake to the quiet sunrise over the water, sip coffee on the dock, and unwind in the cedar sauna at sunset. With floor-to-ceiling windows, sweeping lake views, and space for the whole group, this design-forward retreat blends nature, comfort, and experience.
The Space
This architect-designed 1955 lakehouse is a true mid-century modern gem. It has been thoughtfully preserved through the years and elevated for modern stays. The open-concept great room features vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and striking double-sided stone fireplace. The entire home feels both expansive and grounded in nature.
Nearly every room captures the lake, and the windows are intentionally situated to bring views of nature into the home. With multiple indoor and outdoor living areas, this lakehouse comfortably hosts families, couples, and groups looking to reconnect, recharge, and experience something truly special. Take a paddle on the quiet waters (no motors allowed here and we only have one neighbor on the whole lake), stretch or do yoga on one of the many patios or indoor spaces with a view, and end your day under the stars by the cozy, giant fire pit.
