About this property
Secluded, Furnished, Log Home, Close To Many Adirondack Attractions.
*****Note*** September 2023***** Last spring we replaced the woodstove with a brand new unit. We recently replaced all of the beds with brand new frames, mattresses and box springs. We also upgraded the kitchen and now have a complete set of GreenPan Cookware. In case you've never heard of it, it's great stuff! We also have recently refinished the floor and upgraded the heating system, which probably doesn't matter to you, but we are excited about it. :)
****WE ACCEPT PETS OVER 20 POUNDS!**** There's some kind of glitch in VRBO that shows we do not.
Enjoy the Adirondack lifestyle in this brand new, secluded log cabin. Located at the end of a 150 foot driveway on a quiet road in “Ausable Acres”, the Cayuga Cabin provides a quiet getaway but is close to all the High Peaks attractions. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay! The cabin is cozy and clean. Great location - nice, quiet area. Close to Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain. 10/10 recommend!
This is a beautiful home in a beautiful place! I loved that it was dog-friendly, close to other family that I was visiting, had room to entertain family, and I even baked cookies with my grandchildren. Close to hiking and skiing trails. The woodstove was nice for ambiance. Mark was very responsive to any communications.
Cabin was very clean and cozy. We enjoyed our stay. We were bummed that there's fire banned during our stay, so we couldnt use the firepit, but we had great time regardless
Super private cabin, absolutely beautiful inside and out, exactly like the listing, we loved everything about it including the price, and the hosts were great and friendly as well! Our new favorite place to book for vacation! We can’t wait to be back!
This was the perfect getaway for us! The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed! The cabin was close to lake placid and hiking trails. The hosts are very kind and responded to any concerns/questions I had. They take great care of this place and make the cabin feel like home! We definitely will be coming back here when we visit again next year!!!
Comfortable, clean and relaxing. Would definitely stay here again. My husband and I brought our mother in law up to the ADK to do some hiking and this was perfect. Super friendly host.
House was in good condition. Host was responsive after I reached out. Linens could have been cleaner (pet hair on coverlet in the bedroom where I slept). Cobwebs on closet doors. Shower curtain and pillows needs to be replaced. Ample towels and paper products (paper towels and toilet paper).Would be nice if there was a tea kettle. Used a pot to heat water for tea. Pillows
Awesome time. Dog had a great time watching the birds and squirrels at the feeder. Smores at the campfire. Cozy in the living room with the fireplace.

About the host
Hosted by Rick & Sue
My wife Sue and I moved into the Adirondacks in 2002 after living on the shores of Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, NY for 10 years. Not a bad place to live at all but it was time for a change. We fell in love with the Adirondacks, and specifically 'Ausable Acres' on our first visit. You will too. It is quiet, wooded with wildlife everywhere.
Why they chose this property
We purchased the undeveloped lot in 2004 and completed our log home in 2006. We are very proud of ourselves :) We take great satisfaction in the complements we get from our most wonderful past guests.
