About this property
Cozy A-frame cabin surrounded by trees in Keene
Escape to a cozy A-frame cabin in Keene. Nestled in the trees and close to hiking, swimming and canoeing adventures. Easy access from Keene and close to route 73. A 15 minute drive to Lake Placid in one direction and 15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain in the other. Many of the 46 are at your doorstep!
The interior features high ceilings and a queen bed on one side. Mini-fridge, kettle, toaster and table with chairs on the other. Wifi included.
The outhouse is 20 feet from the cabin and also has an outdoor solar shower (fyi- the water temperature of the shower depends in how much heat the sun gave off that day. The water does not stay hot for very long after dark). You can sit on Adirondack chairs on the deck and enjoy the forest view in front of the firepit.
The cabin is 200ft down from the main house, on the same side of the road. You will just see the rooftop peaking over the wild flowers on approach. Parking is alongside the cabin.
There is road noise but no view of route 73 during the day. Crickets, occasional owls or passing hooting bears are the usual night time sounds out this way. I look forward to hosting you.

I’ll say right away we loved everything about this property and how responsive and accommodating our host, Julie, was. The property was exactly as described and perfect for an escape into the mountains. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, charming, relaxing… the list goes on. We did not want to leave and hope to be back!
My husband and I stayed for three nights and were very impressed with the little A-frame. First, it’s really in a great location and close to everything we wanted to do… hikes, restaurants and little shops. The cabin was clean and nicely decorated. Love all the amenities inside and out. The hot tub was a nice treat especially after a long hike. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

My partner and I had visited the A-Frame about a year ago and loved it. We couldn't wait to go back and are glad we did. Julie is a super friendly, enthusiastic, helpful, and responsive hostess, with an eye for detail. Her cabin is a great base of operations for exploring the wonders of the ADK high peaks and offers a really cozy place to relax before and after hiking, paddling, etc. Easy access to town for provisions as well. Awesome place!
Property was clean and cozy! Host was amazing and always offered anything to help! Check in and out was simple! Surrounding area was nice. Property is small but enough for one-two people! Lots to see in the area! Definitely recommend.
If you had to have a dream scenario of an A-frame in the Moantans, fire ring just off the deck, and hot tub, your dream will come true. Exactly as advertised. Two beautiful rides in the Lake Placid and Wilmington. If I were to add photos, they wouldn't be any better than the photos provided. The stay was stellar.
The Little A-frame in the woods was the perfect location for a relaxing weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary! The listing is exactly as pictured and described and Julie was very responsive! 10/10 will recommend to literally everyone and hope to come back again some day. Thanks Julie!
We had such a wonderful time staying at Julie’s A-frame cabin! It was a perfect home base for exploring and hiking the surrounding mountains. The cabin was clean and cozy. We especially enjoyed the view of the forest waking up in the mornings. All the comforts of home. Even the little outhouse was adorable! Will recommend staying here to anyone heading out this way.
Had an absolutely lovely and peaceful stay here. Communication was flawless, the property had all the essentials. The outdoor shower was certainly a fun experience after some long sweaty hikes! My partner and I would return 100%. Our highlight was a bind fire outside facing the still and colourful trees.
Loved the cozy cabin, and the host, Julie, was very responsive, but no hot shower so 4/5 stars.

The cabin has a solar shower, which heats up the water by the sun. It is warm only for the amount of time the hose retains the heat. This works great in the summer, but early spring and late fall, especially after dark, not so warm! Hopefully i can have an alternative one day but the cabin is a rustic with no flush toilet or inside plumbing for now, as listed. Glad everything else was satisfactory.
As much as I don’t want to compete with others for this cabin in the future, I feel obliged to leave my honest review. My wife and I stayed here and could not have been happier. The A-frame was very clean and cozy, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. For people who don’t mind a privy and a brisk shower, this property can’t be beat. Julie was a great host, and we’ll be sure to visit again.

About the host

Hi. I'm half British and half American and couldn't imagine living anywhere else in the States than here, in this special place called the Adirondacks! I'm a photographer by trade but love living amongst the trees and mountains, as well as swimming in the local rivers, antique hunting every chance i get and enjoying all 4 seasons up here. I'm very lucky!
What makes this property unique
The cabin is close to everywhere but set back in the trees, so feels private and hidden from view. Close to route 73, there is road noise during the day. But you fall asleep to owls, crickets and occasional hooting bears, as they make their way between the river and higher foraging.
