The cottage was clean and well laid out. There is wi-fi available. The little stove kept the small space plenty warm, and the water got warm quickly too. There was a lock issue during my stay where it could only be locked if you were inside the property. It didnt pose any issue.
This is a great space for couple's getaway, we wished we could've stayed longer. Host was warm, gracious. & super helpful with finding local restaurants.
I loved staying in their little cottage! It was welcoming, cozy and clean. I felt right at home. The owners are nice and respect privacy. The bed was comfortable, it was the best I have slept in a long time. It very silent back there. The lake is only about a five or less minute drive away. I enjoyed parking and relaxing there to write or simply relax. The whole energy on Copper Lake Dr. was beautiful. There was no TV which I needed and enjoyed too. This is absolutely a retreat of quietness and relaxing. I enjoyed being able to get to Woodstock within 10 mins. Sunflower Market is close by for your groceries. I was just fine with it, I would sleep with the door open if it weren’t for outside moth bugs but IF you get triggered by doors being unlocked ask if they fix the lock before you book. The area is tucked away and felt very safe, especially with two big friends dogs around. I just know people who wouldn’t be able to enjoy themselves if they had to keep a door unlocked, but I was good! That isn’t a con to me. The whole stay was fantastic! Thank you so much for your clean and cozy space
The experience was underwhelming compared to the online description. Cooper Lake is not a short walk from the property, and this was the main draw for us to rent here. The location was lovely on the hill in a nice neighborhood with surrounding forest; however if we had not been lucky to have great weather so we could sit on the deck it would have been depressing to be inside the small space. Also we assumed the pullout couch would be big enough for one adult, as advertised. It was small, somewhat dirty and in bad repair (ripped cushion cover). The kitchen was not fully outfitted, adequate but not great, without microwave or coffee pot to brew (just a small press). The place was disappointing.
We absolutely loved this property and location to Woodstock! Homeowners were awesome! We had a mix up with vrbo and ended up staying an extra night and they worked it out seminglessly with us!! Would recommemnd highly!!

Cute, clean cottage. Responsive, helpful owner.
The cottage is really cute and very clean. It’s close to town but far enough away to be peaceful. The bed is comfortable and I got a good nights sleep. Johanna is friendly and responds quickly to inquiries. She went the extra mile to help me book her cottage on a busy Woodstock weekend. I would stay again and recommend Johanna’s cottage.

Expensive for what it was
Pros: conveniently located, clean, cute decorations, privacy, pet-friendly
Cons: really hot, which made it difficult to sleep (no A/C, small fan provided), door doesn't really lock

Pretty nice.
Really great stay. I enjoyed the privacy of the property. My only complaint is the towels smelled very moldy as well as the blankets. The door knob to the front door also fell off when I closed the door. But overall, very nicely kept place, will like to come back soon.

Perfect getaway Cottage!
One of the best cottages/cabins I have ever rented. Clean, well maintained - I felt immediately comfortable there. The owners house was close to the cottage, but they were very respectful of our privacy and always accommodating and gave us great directions on the resources in the local area. There are lots of activities to do in the area - awesome restaurants in Woodstock.

Such a quiet, cozy, & charming cottage!
I surprised my husband with a weekend away at Cooper Lake Cottage. We enjoyed every moment out here. It's close to town, which was great when we felt like exploring. At night, we would watch movies, cook, and enjoy the fire, or sit on the front porch and star gaze. We just moved to NYC from Baton Rouge, LA, so we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I loved that we were able to include our sweet pup, Pike Lee. He enjoyed the outdoors and being away from all the noise. The cottage had everything we needed to make our weekend a memorable one! We will definitely be back.

Cozy Cabin- Lovely Romantic Weekend!
Had a wonderful weekend in this cozy cabin! Everything you need for a simple weekend away from the city!
The cabin is located on the same property as the owners house, tucked away in the woods on the property. There is a fire pit and a small grill on the property. We used the fire pit and the wood and kindling was provided to us- we roasted delicious smores! The cabin has a stocked kitchen and towels & bedding were provided.
We hiked to Kaaterskill Falls which is about a 45 min drive from the cabin and an easy hour hike. We also checked out the lake that is about 3 min drive from the cabin- really beautiful with all the changing leaves.
The town of Woodstock is located about 5 minutes from the cabin- cute shops and cafes. We ate at the Bear Cafe for dinner (a recommendation from the owner)- and I can honestly say one of the best Roasted Chicken dinners I have had EVER! So delicious.
Loved every minute and would come back!!

Disappointed
If you are looking for a place to stay for one night and you are desperate - then this is the place for you. I will start off by saying that the owner was very nice and provided info on where to eat, buy groceries, shop, etc. and there was a cute dog that came by in the morning to say hello and greet you but everything else was disappointing. The cottage was clean & cozy but needs to be updated & maintained a bit. The door to get in does not lock. My husband had to fiddle with the door knobs and push them together so that we could properly lock the door when we went out for an errand. This took almost 10 minutes to do while standing in the pouring rain, holding my 14th month old baby in one arm and holding the umbrella for my husband with my other hand so he wouldn't get wet. Also, the place smells like mildew. From the towels that were provided to the bed linens - it all smelled like mildew. Also, the bed linens were old and rough to the touch. There was an extra comforter & pillow inside the trunk by the couch and they were filthy. They both had stains, no extra pillow case, and the comforter clearly handn't been washed in a very long time. The couch is uncomfortable- the cushion part slants downward bc it's pretty much old and needs to be replaced. Yes, the kitchen is fully stocked but no paper towels. Just an old rag that stunk like mildew. The morning we left I did find a small roll of paper towels under the sink BUT these are the type of paper towels you find in public restrooms- the brown ones, very cheap. The bathroom was odd - no privacy as you can hear the other person using the toilet and doing their business because the wall that separates the bathroom and the rest of the place doesn't reach the ceiling. The shower curtains were old, ripped and stained with mildew and the door to the bathroom needs to be fixed as well bc it doesn't shut easily. You have to yank it hard to shut it and it slams really loud. With the amount of money charged to stay here, the owner can make a run to Target and get some new bed linens, buy some real paper towels, get a new shower curtain and add an air freshener. I would not recommend this place to my friends or relatives.

Perfect little cottage!
We LOVED staying at the cottage! As soon as I saw it, I fell in love. The property is gorgeous and so is everything about the cabin, inside and out. The owners answered any questions we had and were very accommodating as well.
The town is very cute and we found that there was a lot to do and see. My boyfriend and I really didn't want to leave, it was THAT perfect!

Quaint and cozy cottage in the woods.
This cottage was very enjoyable to stay at. It is perfect for one or two people. It is nicely decorated with a comfortable and warm interior and a nice stove heater. It is surrounded by beautiful woods with one other house on the property but still feels secluded, like you are in the woods but not too far from town. Owners were very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Woodstock SUPER Lake Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage. Waking up to the sound of the birds was delightful. And having the resident four legged visitors made our day.Our host was beyond gracious even when I totally goofed the reservation dates. We did say "We never wanted to leave there"... What are you waiting for just book your stay already!

Lovely Setting, Cozy Cottage
We stayed here after attending an event in nearby New Paltz. Johanna is a wonderful hostess, and made us feel more than welcome. The location is on the quiet Bearsville side of Woodstock, with plenty of good eating choices within 5 minutes. This is a comfortable and cozy "efficiency" cottage, on the grounds of the main house. We look forward to returning.

About the host
Hosted by Johanna Trimboli
I was born in Sweden but my father was Sicilian and my mother from Florida. I was raised in Florida but spent many summers in Europe.I was raised on the water and on boats during my childhood. I learned an appreciation for nature and adventure at an early age. I have traveled extensively. My mother has a bed and breakfast that I have run at different times. It has given me first hand experience with making people feel at home and being a resource for them to explore a new area. I have a real estate license and was an active realtor in the Hudson Valley for years so I know many out of the way places and the best spots to explore. I currently do property management as well as foster children. I love to hike, travel, bake and have get togethers with family and friends. My fiance Jeff is an avid cyclist and knows all the best routes around. He also manages one of the yummiest restaurants around. And my daughter Isa is a bright, creative teenager. We have a super friendly pup we rescued from Panama, Bluff. And two Italian cats, Luna and Nero.
Why they chose this property
I have lived in Woodstock for 15 years in a few different locations. When I stumbled upon this magical property I knew I was home. Tucked away amongst fruit trees and Japanese maples at the end of a dead end road all one can hear is songbirds and the breeze. It truly is a tranquil spot which I have found is more rare than one would think in the country. Many idyllic old houses were set right by main thoroughfares hundreds of years ago. Hence can be quiet busy. This house is surrounded by estates, completely private yet a stones throw to the center of Woodstock. Truly the best of both worlds. One can walk down Woodstock's loveliest road to Cooper Lake. Venture into town to shop and eat at one of the many award winning restaurants we have here then go see a great show at Bearsville Theater. At the end of the night it is a 3 minute drive back to your own oasis.
What makes this property unique
Aside from the convenience of location and the solitude of the surroundings our little cabin has all one would want from a country get away. Soak in the claw foot tub, sip wine by the Jotul stove and gaze at the starry sky from your deck. At the end of your adventures crawl into your super comfy bed with Egyptian Cotton sheets and down pillows and comforter. Know that all products used to clean your sweet retreat are biodegradable, cruelty free and green products.
