Reikaku Yasaka was a wonderful stay for our family, including a 12 year old. Having two bedrooms, 1.5 baths and a washer/dryer were all godsends on our two week trip. There is a 24h grocery store just around the corner, and many restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. Communication from the host was perfect. We had a great stay overall.
Our week long stay at Reikaku Yasaka was absolutely perfect! Perfect location, perfect setting and perfect machiya. Communication with Tomomi was wonderful. After exploring the sights of Kyoto, loved arriving home to our beautiful and serene home. We are hoping Reikaku Yasaka will be available for our next visit to Kyoto. Thank you for a magical week in Kyoto!
Literally a couple blocks from the old Gion quarters and popular Kyoto attractions, this restored house with modern furnishings (heated floors, high end toilets, etc.) made for a wonderful stay in Kyoto. The bonus was the excellent host who arranged cabs and provided helpful information, all within minutes of contacting him. The whole experience is 5 stars. The one suggestion we have is to find a way to provide for clothes storage upstairs in the bedrooms. We kept our luggage downstairs off the tatami mats, but had to plan to bring the day's clothes up the stairs each evening.
