This beautiful casita is a private haven. Nestled up on the hill behind the quaint fishing village of Mal Pais, it is a quiet retreat surrounded by tropical jungle with 180 degree sea views. Enjoy luxury in the jungle.

Casita Brisas Silencio is a beautifully built romantic getaway. Thoughfully styled with a large wrap around verandah and a fabulous private thatched rancho which extends out over the jungle, offering expansive views of the Cabo Blanco Nature reserve, Sunset Reef surf spot and the varied bird and wildlife that spills over from the reserve into our property. Some of the best birdwatching is enjoyed right from the verandah and troops of Howler and Capuchin monkeys visit us almost daily. Enjoy your own private pool, double swing bed for afternoon lounging and an outdoor kitchen with hob and Webber Gas grill. Inside your casita you will find a king-size bed, air conditioning and a bathroom ensuite. Silencio is fully serviced each day.

Casita Brisas Silencio is part of Casa Brisas del Cabo (see my other listing which offers a main house/lodge and 2 casitas, Casita Brisas Silencio & Casita Brisas Tranquilo) The entire property is situated in a gated community and has a caretaker on site. Guests will have access to a concierge service who will help to arrange outings and excursions. Guests will be left to enjoy their own privacy unless requests are made.

We have fast fibre optic Wi-Fi and a desk, chair and printer can be made available if you need to work.

You will need either a 4 x 4 or an ATV to get around.

We are happy to do laundry for a small charge.

A perfect stay!!

We absolutely loved our stay here! It had all the small touches and luxurious feel of a resort but the seclusion and privacy of a VRBO. The views are unbeatable and wildlife came right up close to the house - you feel as if you are staying in the middle of the jungle. We hope to come back again!

Amazing accomodations with a 1st class host

We have been to this part of Costa Rica 3 times and this was by far out favorite place. Let's just say we had such a good time we have a picture with our host in our library.

An Oasis with a View

I really enjoyed this peaceful casita on the edge of the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, where I could observe fascinating wildlife and sunsets over the ocean. Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming, and their property is a beautiful, lush botanical garden. I felt like I was in the best place in Malpais!

Amazing time relaxing in the jungle

This place is incredible! A retreat from the busy city while still being within a 10 minute drive to Mal Pais and Santa Teresa. We often would sit and watch the monkeys and birds and just relax. The hosts provided ample suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We certainly plan to come back again. Thanks for having us!

Could not have had a better experience. As first-timers to Costa Rica, we had high expectations. This property, along with Mal Pais/Santa Teresa, exceeded them all. The Casita was stunning. Julie and Philip were so attentive, warm, and helpful with everything we needed. We can't wait to come back.

We stayed at Casa Brisas for a week and had an amazing time. Julie and Phil were very engaging and helpful both before the trip (providing directions, booking activities and answering questions) and during our stay (restaurant and activity recommendations, directions, help booking an ATV rental). The photos are very accurate to the real property. The casita is very private and the pool is beautiful. Everything is very well maintained and basics are provided for cooking and laundry which was very helpful. I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Beautiful tasteful casita with stunning views and wildlife

We spent 10 days here in February 2020 and it was perfect location and very special find. The listing is very accurate and the dealings to book and arrive were seamless. Sergio and Reina were wonderful at ensuring our comfort. We had enormous array of unique birds every morning and most days visits from two different types of monkeys. Quiet location but easy access to array of beaches, restaurants and adventures in the Mal Pais, Santa Theresa area. Thanks for taking such good care of us.

Absolutely amazing

The property is so beautiful, and we cannot say enough nice things about the property managers. Fruit bowls were provided in the mornings and having someone to coordinate activities before we arrived was a tremendous help. We came in the rainy season, and storms did knock out the power/hot water for a couple hours the first night. Still, I highly recommend staying here.

A Breathtaking Gem

What a beauty this place is! Arriving to its doorway all I could think was the pictures don't capture how majestic this place is. It has an amazing view of the water, extremely clean and offers multiple outdoor experiences all in one setting. Furthermore, the hosts were INCREDIBLE they answered all our questions, went out of their way to help us multiple times and made us truly feel like we were at home. I hope to come back one day with my family and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a glamorous vacation spot.

Our 10 year wedding anniversary

My husband and I stayed at the Casita Silencio for our 10 year wedding anniversary and had an amazing stay! From the time we landed, all details were covered and we felt very at ease. The property is beautiful and the views are stunning! The cleanliness and hospitality were top notch. Fresh fruit and smoothies in the morning to get you going we’re just right. It was such an adventure each day on the ATV. Phil & Julie were so wonderful in their suggestions and maps. There is so much to see. I wish we had more time there. If we could give more than 5 stars, we definitely would. Our stay was absolutely perfect! We hope to return one day.

The Perfect Paradise!

We recently took a trip to Costa Rica to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and we had the most incredible stay at Casita Brisas Silencio! Everything was perfect and the property was so beautiful! Shelley and Martin were so friendly! Sergio and Rena, who help care for the property were incredible! Everyone was so warm and helpful and those little touches are what made our stay truly amazing! The casita was immaculate and had everything we needed. We loved taking a dip in the plunge pool to cool off and our favorite spot to hang out was on the ranchero. We were able to enjoy beautiful sunsets from that spot every night! You have complete privacy and incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. The beaches of Mal Pais and Santa Teresa, which are so close to the casita, were georgous and the water is so warm! We have already started planning our next trip to Casita Brisas and would highly reccomend this property!

Escape

This was just what we were looking for. The setting is beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. Our casita had everything we needed, and Sergio and the property manager were available on site and by email for any questions or needs we had. Also, the owner, Shelley, kindly stayed up to greet us upon our late arrival and was available by phone for any questions or concerns. The property is close to town, local beaches, parks/hiking, restaurants, grocery. We typically ate breakfast, enjoyed coffee and tea on the patio near the pool or under the rancho, then went out and about in the morning and early afternoon to explore and spent afternoon and evenings at the casita where we swam in our pool, read books, played cards, prepared meals in our outdoor kitchen and just RELAXED in the privacy of our own little paradise. We enjoyed a multitude of colorful birds and beautiful sunsets. We would love to return.

Paradise!

My wife and I recently took an anniversary trip to Costa Rica and stayed at Casita Brisas Silencio which was absolutely incredible. Definitely one of the best places and experiences we've ever had in our travels. The property is gorgeous and secluded with the most incredible views of the coast and Pacific Ocean. Everything that you could want is provided with the property (kitchen, grill, bluetooth speaker, etc.) and the plunge pool is a great place to float and cool off after a day of exploring Malpais/Santa Teresa. Sergio and his wife Rena, who help take care of the property, are some of the nicest people we have ever met and helped make our stay so incredible. Loved the fresh fruit and smoothie's brought every morning of our stay! Julie and Phil were great hosts and assisted with arranging some of our travel logistics including taxis to and from the property as well as an ATV for our stay at the Casita. I highly recommend you rent an ATV for exploring the area, and they will even arrange for it to be dropped off and picked up from the property. Already trying to figure out when we can book our next trip to the area, hopefully staying again at this property. Great trip!

Perfection!

My husband and I came to Casitas Brisas Silencio on our honeymoon. We just could not have asked for a better experience! The casita is simply a piece of heaven. No description can do it justice. If you like the idea of being perched in the jungle with an epic view of the Pacific and in the lap of private luxury, look no further! We slept with doors open to the sounds of the ocean and wildlife. We awoke to patio breakfasts of fresh fruit and coffee followed by a dip in our pool. As if that isn't enough, in very close proximity are stunning off-the-beaten track pristine beaches, endless opportunities to explore nature and a grocery store with a surprisingly vast assortment sure to meet any of your needs. Our hosts Phil and Julia also made everything SO easy. They did everything from organizing our transportation to setting up a fishing trip (we caught yellow fin tuna and mahi mahi and had a bonus up-close encounter with a hump whale mother and her baby). Suffice to say that we hated to leave and will be back! Thank you to Casita Brisas, Phil, and Julie!

Fantastic Property with Amazing Views

My husband and I stayed at Casita Brisas Silencio this past week. This rental is part of a complex consisting of a large home and another 2 casitas. Each building had its own pool and privacy. The grounds were well groomed and beautifully landscaped. The driveway into the property, was paved with eco pavers and then regular pavers.( No Dust) The driveway and walkways were well lit in in the evening. The property itself felt very safe and secure because there was a security gate on the main road. The inside of the casita consisted of a large airy room with high ceilings, windows and curtains on 2 sides, 2 comfortable chairs, ample storage for clothing, a large bathroom and washer/dryer. The back doors opened to an outdoor dining area and kitchen. Beyond this was the pool and mountain and ocean views. To the right, past the pool was another covered area for lounging, with 2 cushioned lounge chairs. We could watch the sun set every day with completely unobstructed views. Besides being in a great location, the casita was well maintained and clean. We had fresh sheets and towels daily. We were treated to fresh fruit every morning. What a fabulous stay! I did not meet the owners or managers of this property but kept in touch via email. I felt completely taken care of the entire time and knew I could reach them easily if I had any questions. In additional, Sergio and Reyne, grounds, handyman, housekeeping team, were always onsite and so helpful. I highly recommend staying here. I've stayed in Mal Pais / Santa Teresa area a few times and this rental was my FAVORITE!

Absolutely wonderful!

My husband and I just spent 3 absolutely magical nights in Malpais and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to stay during our time in Guanacaste. Casita Brisas Silencio is truly extraordinary - beautifully furnished and appointed, completely private, immaculately clean (really important to us) stunningly landscaped, and with extremely comfortable beds and linens. It also presents a uniquely wonderful opportunity to immerse oneself in nature. This place is perfectly and purposefully set up to allow for a maximum outdoor experience and with good reason - its surroundings are a feast for the senses - the cool, refreshing pool, the soothing sound (and view) of the surf breaking on the beaches far below, the fresh, earthy smell of the jungle, and the hilarious daily antics of the monkeys in the trees just off the patio. We especially loved the rancho and gravitated there daily with our morning coffee, to watch the sunset and to experience the nightly thunderstorms. It was a brilliant and thoughtful addition to the property. Finally, we can't end this review without acknowledging the charming, warm, helpful and gracious property manager, Phil, who insisted on carrying in our luggage in the pouring rain, macheted our coconut (truly WAY beyond the call of duty!), alerted us when the Howler monkeys were on the property and otherwise went out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable and happy. Thank you, Phil! One important bit of advice - we highly recommend timing your initial arrival for the daylight hours. That was our intention, but we missed our ferry and ended up driving the last hour at night and in a torrential thunderstorm. The gravel road leading up to the property is narrow, winding, steep and sometimes flanked on both sides by ditches. During daylight hours it was totally fine in our 4 x 4 rental car, but a whole different experience in the dark and rain and for the first time. (But it was worth it!)

Magnifique

C'était notre second séjour dans cette très jolie villa. Elle est parfaite pour 2 en amoureux. La vue est tout simplement splendide. Le bal des oiseaux au levé du soleil est immanquable (toucans, perroquet, blue jay, piverts...). Sans oublié la visite des capucins ou singes hurleurs. Nous reviendrons avec le plus grand plaisir ! Merci à Philip et son épouse pour leur accueil ainsi qu'à Julie pour nos échanges avant notre arrivée.

Amazing Malpais Getaway

Although we were only there for two nights, it was so hard to leave! This property is amazing, we can’t wait to stay again! Phil and Julie are the most gracious hosts, they make you feel right at home. All in all, this has been the best property we’ve stayed at in Costa Rica, and as locals, we’ve been around!

We are just returning from a week’s stay at Casita Brisas. It was absolutely perfect. I cannot say enough about this perfectly designed place. A combination of warm hospitality and decompression-promoting privacy. Your own private pool, lovely design and decor, unbelievable views, expert advice....the list goes on. I would definitely recommend this place! You cannot lose!

Beautiful Sunsets!

My wife and I stayed here in late February 2018. Shelley and Marshall were exceptionally kind and accommodating. They were very helpful in answering all of our questions before our arrival. As this is up high on the mountain / hill 4wd is advised. The casita is beautifully crafted and sited perfectly on the mountain, affording awesome views and privacy. Howlers are heard throughout the day and white face monkeys will come by in the mornings. This was our first time being up high and not on the beach. We enjoyed this more than the dusty din of Malpais / Santa Teresa. This is a wonderful place and we look forward to returning soon. Joe & Michele
