About the host
Hosted by Diana Nail
Diana is a retired NC teacher of 30 years and Donnie is retired from the NC Governor's Highway Safety Program. Donnie grew up in Winston-Salem and spent many summers on the New River in Ashe County! We have been married for 43 years and have 5 grand children! We are excited to share our new home in these beautiful mountains with you!
Why they chose this property
From the spacious front porch you can see the tranquil New River across the road. Next year we will add access to the river for picnics, firepit nights, kayaking and tubing! We also love how close we are to downtown West Jefferson, Boone, Banner Elk and other surrounding areas. We are located 25 minutes to 1 hour from Ski Resorts in the area for winter activities! Several wineries in the area, as well as shopping and restaurants.
What makes this property unique
Our property sits up on a hill above the New River and has several trails along the river for walking dogs, picking wild flowers, or just strolling along the river road. It is peaceful and relaxing. We also have 2 kitchens to host larger families or friends that want to travel together. Our fenced in yard is a huge plus for dogs and children. Our firepit is fenced in so the whole family can enjoy roaming safely!
