We stayed during spring break but it is good vacation places for summer. During spring break most of the places around are closed. Nice property though good for staycation at this very peaceful and quiet place.
we had an incredible stay at this house. We hiked, hung out at the lake, cooked big group dinners, and overall just enjoyed the beautiful scenery and comfortable, clean amenities.
Everyone was pleased with the house beds are comfortable and the beauty of the property and location on a lake was perfect I stayed in November so we able to use the lake or pool. But the stay was still wonderful
Don’t let the 1980s decor fool you, the place is immaculate. We were a family of 8 and all the kids had their own rooms. The property is huge and very private. The owner took care of a minor issue via a very nice caretaker who arrived within 10 minutes and asked us what else we might need. Highly recommend!
The house and grounds were so wonderful and homey. Kitchen well equipped tho we grilled most of our meals. Beds were comfortable. There was plenty to do — books, puzzles, ping pong, tv & movies. All three families vowed to come back. Peaceful, enjoyable weekend getaway/ family vacation.
We rented this home to be near our family on Copake Lake. It was exactly what we needed with ample space and privacy for my family of 5 plus in laws. The house was well stocked with kitchenware, bedding, games / activities for all. We stayed in November but I bet this place is even more fun in the summer with the in ground pool and easy lake access. We will be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Plenty of space to spread out (the kids loved hanging out in the basement). All of us enjoyed splashing and floating in the pool. We took day trips to Bish Bash Falls as well as Catamount to check out their ropes course. This is an excellent property for multiple families with children.
My family and I rented two of Jennifer’s properties for the weekend. They were fantastic as we could get back and forth between over a foot bridge by the water. She was a fantastic host, the house was spotless and had everything you could ever need for a fun vacation on the water including any game you could dream up to help pass a rainy evening! We’ve already talked about booking these houses again!
The house was very roomy. plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Recreation room, sitting room off of dining room and kitchen, all had TVs. Outside deck, lanai, small dock and bench at the pond, fenced in pool. It was great for us since we just wanted to relax! We will be back next year ! Thank you Jennifer!
We had a multi-generational family gathering and the house worked out perfectly for us. The two sides of the house provided separation, spacious living room was great for adult socializing, while basement was a favorite entertainment space for teenagers. Nice kitchen and big dining table were perfect for us. The house was very clean and comfortable. The house is located close to excellent hiking trails and other outdoor activities. The owner responded quickly to all messages and accomdated all our requests.
It was an awesome vacation. We will definitely be back!! There is no need to leave the property. There is a private pool, lake access, a gym in walking distance, and a nice private yard for the kids to play soccer and the dogs to run around. However, if you must leave the grocery store is only 15 min away (and has everything you need). Also, Taconic State Park is not far either and has a beach with a snack bar, which is great for the kids. We had movie night every night in the spacious living room. There are two full refrigerators that were very helpful. The screened in porch was so relaxing and useful. We look forward to another great vacation at this property.
The house is even nicer than pictured. Very private yard. Everything was extremely clean, including the pool. Wonderful deck and screened porch. There isn't too much around, but that was fine with us. The pond is a little scummy by the dock - you have to paddle to a floating dock to swim. And it was challenging to get the kayaks/canoe into the water for us. No handles on the kayaks, canoe is heavy, have to carry them down steps to a moving dock, and we are all over 60. Communication with the owner was poor both before and after we were there, but very good while we were there. We let her know that a drawer was broken, and someone was there to fix it that day. Overall it was great and we already booked for next year.

Misrepresented it's a Pond not a Lake
This house is on a Pond not a Lake, it's a total misrepresentation. The pool area was in desperate need of weeding there were weeds growing through the stones The house was nice clean plenty of pool toys linens and furnishings. But three of the bedrooms have very large beautiful windows but there were no window coverings so those rooms had no privacy and my children wouldn't even sleep in two of them because they felt uncomfortable so they slept on the couch. Also the neighbors had no problem letting us know that they are not fond of the home being a rental the because "they were making to much noise" I also had a neighbor ask me about the procedure for renting the home because there seems to be some controversy with the town and this rental this created a little bit of a stressful situation

Dear Judy - We are so sorry that you had a less than exceptional time at our home. I wish you had contacted our manager Jenifer regarding the windows as we had indicated to you that they were just replaced and that the window treatments weren't in and also let you know that we would have been happy to provide something temporary. We just didn't know that, after you were there, you were unhappy with that. We have permanent window blinds on the way as I write! So sorry! As for the weeds, we lost our gardener early summer and found one that wanted to weed while you were there but we didn’t want them intruding on your time with your family. The area is now totally weed free with upkeep ...thankfully!
As for the Pond.....The house is located on Upper Rhoda Lake (in fact there is a sign saying as such on route 7A) which is technically called Upper Rhoda Pond. It is 70+ acres in area. Most people think that a pond would indicate a much smaller body of water. When most guests of ours see this home, they feel that the size is that of a lake. And in my research, I found that there is really no standardization of lake sizes. Some sources claim lakes are bodies of water larger than 2 acres. In Montana, the minimum water surface area of a lake is 20 acres. There are some differences however and perhaps you are referring to those differences. I welcome your comments so that I can accurately reflect the name of the body of water. As for the neighbor, we are near the end of working with the town regarding home rentals. This is an issue all over the country and we are doing what we should be doing to make it 100% legal in our area. We have tried to work with her and the resolution is pending within 4-6 weeks. So we apologize for this. We expect that this issue will be resolved shortly and then we will have no additional issues subsequent to that resolution.
Thank you again for your comments. We welcome them and are happy to resolve whatever we can to make a guest's stay be the best possible experience.
We had a great vacation for an extended family trip. Beautiful area of NY. Outside areas of the house are lovely with lots of yard, a well maintained and private pool area, nice firepit and plenty of outdoor furniture. If you are not satisfied to stay at the property there are activities in the area. We spent several evenings at the fire pit and many hours in the pool. The bushes outside the deck and around the pool would benefit from a trim and the downstairs area needs some updating. Aside from those minor comments the property is as represented and the manager is responsive. We really enjoyed our vacation.
Our family had a wonderful time during our stay in this Copake home. We enjoyed kayaking, and the tennis courts. We saw eagles fishing in the waters and flying over the house. There is a lovely patio with a gas grill. We had a small problem with a broken coffee carafe on our first day, that Jennifer remedied right away. She also made sure that we had wood for a fire in the fireplace, access to the kayaks and tennis equipment.
We enjoyed visiting the small towns nearby and the many local diners in the area. A hike to nearby Bash Bish falls was icing on the cake.
We spent a long weekend at this beautiful property with a group of friends. The house is spacious and comfortable, extremely clean and with an amazing view on the lake. It’s actually much nicer than the pictures and there is a tennis court (shared with a few other houses) + canoe and kayak to enjoy the lake! Very smooth communication with Jenifer who was kind enough to give us a very late checkout on Sunday night.
We are looking forward to returning to this house and I can’t recommend it enough.
We had a great time cooking in the open kitchen, relaxing by the lake and fire pit, taking out the canoe and kayak, playing tennis and basketball. Highly recommend

We are a family that has a vacation home 5 minutes from this home. We have been in the area for 9 years and love it. We hope you do as well. We can share all the fun places to visit when you are here
Why they chose this property
We love the drama of the double height open living room with the focal point the stone fireplace. Add to that the large open kitchen with a long eating bar/countertop. The bedrooms are nicely split up for privacy and there is access to the deck from 3 places. The pool is a wonderful feature for use 4 months of the year.
What makes this property unique
Pool, waterfront and lake access to pristine Upper Rhoda Lake.
