Beautiful property on the outside: however, only2 very old window units available to cool the house and we were very uncomfortable with the heat. The couch needs to be replaced as does most of the furniture. Chairs outside by the fire pit and in one of the bedrooms had pillows over them where the seat of the chair has holes in it. The host is very nice.

Thanks so much for the review. My goal is to get the property to be like a visit to grandma's in the 50's at the time of Route 66. There wasn't a mention of anything educational or historic…such as the beautiful quilts and antiques in every room, the authentic record player you could play by winding it up, the old pump organ from a silent movie house you can play, and a real accordion, old games and toys for children in the Narnia closet, classic books from the time period and a typewriter that can be used that is not electric and even a rod and reel from the 50's We are in the process of taking new photos....the large yard and beautiful view only .7 miles from the river. It is not everyone’s cup of tea thank goodness!

I am a retired art and history teacher who enjoys doing murals and creating really fun historical places. My family has owned this property for 50 years overlooking Montauk State Park and just down the hill is the Current River. I wanted to create a space where you can get a feel for what it might have been like 50 years ago with furniture, musical instruments, games and appliances; some not electric from the past.

Why they chose this property

From the large deck surrounding the house in the back yard, you can only see the beautiful view. It is very peaceful and quiet, and I am just finishing another really awesome space in the back yard full of fun and history for families. I even have created a Narnia closet just for fun filled with Lincoln logs, and vintage toys; and some modern ones as well.

What makes this property unique

My father loved people and loved to entertain and teach children and people flyfishing and the joys of being out in nature on the beautiful Current River. The location is very unique in proximity to the park, and view of the Ozark hills, but is filled with rich vintage experiences. People can experience life in the 50's.
