My friend and I had a lovely time at this home. We kayaked and rode the cruiser bikes. The owners really went above and beyond with the toiletries available, making it feel like a luxury experience. There were even robes provided for use during your stay. The house was cozy and comfortable and the beds were high-quality. Everything was great!

Sherry, our host, was great and very communicative. The place is lovely with beautiful views. There was plenty of wood for the fire pit, lots of space and gorgeous bathroom. We brought our two dogs and they had a great stay also.

The cottage was so beautiful! Warm & inviting, the decor was well put together with love and care. Shelly thought of everything, we needed for nothing. I forgot my shampoo, and she had a wonderful selection of shampoo, conditioner, & body wash for us to choose from, it was the good stuff too, ha! Plenty of towels, blankets, & linens. The bed was literally heaven, it felt like I was sleeping on a cloud, ha. The kitchen was fully stocked, there was even ziplock bags etc… a coffee bar with coffee pods, sugar, tea & hot cocoa… everything you needed to make s’mores, & popcorn, ha! All you need is to bring yourself & any food you will want to eat. The TV has Roku, so you can watch movies… Shelly was great at communicating, easy to get ahold of, very helpful & easy going. It was the dead of winter, so we weren’t able to really use the outside, but it didn’t matter. We still had a wonderful time! We want to come back! Can’t wait. Thank you Shelly for giving us a place away from the chaos of life. Giving us a peaceful time together for our Valentine getaway. ❤️ Love Renée & Jason

I live with my family in central Virginia where I own a wedding & event flower business. I love hiking, traveling, eating & hanging out with family, playing volleyball and snuggling with my Golden Retrievers!

Why they chose this property

We discovered this quaint cottage and were so happy we were able to purchase it, not only because we love the house, but also because the village is so sweet as well. It is a very quiet historic waterfront village with beautiful old homes, the neighbors are great, and there is a fabulous waterfront museum. Don't miss the $1 ice cream in the freezer at the pavilion - bring cash or get the Venmo details inside the museum!

What makes this property unique

We have tried to think of everything! We have tons of towels, body wash/shampoo/conditioner, extra toothpaste and brushes (just in case), noise makers, air purifier, memory foam mattresses, room darkening curtains, lots of blankets and pillows, outdoor shower, fire pit and s'mores kit! Outdoor grill, seating, bug spray and lots more!
We have shared access to a River viewing porch and another shared river access with beach and pier just 0.3 mi down the road.
