The house was not at all as pictured. It was mot clean and seemed generally unkempt.

We're sorry that a few cleaning details were missed during your stay, including an item left under the couch and a kitchen utensil that should have been cleaned more thoroughly. We've addressed these concerns with our cleaning team and reinforced our inspection process. Since your stay, we've made several updates to the home, including replacing the damaged blinds with a new curtain and addressing the outdoor areas. Really appreciated the host letting us check-in early. Hosts were responsive. The home is sufficient for a night or two - older with some older furnishings (mattresses, pillows). Plenty of parking space and close to a lot of things in town. The only real issue we had was a distinct pet /urine odor. We bought a candle and some room spray which helped - owner offered to reimburse, which wasn’t necessary - probably just needs a good carpet cleaning.

Overall, this property was great for a quick weekend trip! The location was close to everything and the two living areas let the kids have space while adults could hang and talk. There were some minor repairs needed but nothing that impacted our stay. It should be noted that there isn’t a microwave which isn’t a big deal but did change some of our meal plans.

Check in- We weren’t notified about check in procedures. I had to call the contact number 20 minutes before check in. They said something that was supposed to be done automatically wasn’t triggered to send check in instructions and they sent it then. Property-Back yard: The yard is not fully fenced in. It’s is fenced in on three sides and there is no way to close it off so you cannot let your dog off leash safety. The sliding glass door didn’t open to the yard didn’t open so you had to go out to the backyard via the front door and walk around the house. Trash: we pulled up into the driveway and were greeted by two completely full smelly trash cans sitting in the driveway. We told the owners and the cleaning people moved them to the curb when they vacuumed the house out the first night. House: The house is very pretty inside. But none of the lights were connected to the switches in the rooms upstairs. In fact I had to go around and plug in lights, find which outlets worked in order for there to be lights in the rooms on the second floor. Cleanliness- when we walked in we were hit with the odor of pets/pet messes. We opened all the windows in the house to try to air it out. I contacted the owners and they sent the cleaning crew over to Vaccum, etc. which helped a bit but it still had that pet smell that you can’t Vaccum or spray away. The carpet needs to be ripped out.Everything else was clean and nice.

For future guests, we would like to clarify that the backyard layout is accurately shown in the listing photos and is not advertised as fully enclosed. The sliding glass door is functional and has a stopper at the bottom that must be released before opening. The upstairs lighting is also functional; some lamps have individual on/off switches, and the wall switches control specific outlets in each room. We've continued working with our cleaning team and making improvements to the property based on guest feedback.

It was a great location for visiting the zoo. Easy to get to and easy to get around while in the area. Neighborhood was nice and quiet. It was great for traveling with a group.
