An Architectural Design by Dennis McGuire makes this a most exceptional home that is located atop the lavish mountain town of Idyllwild, California. Distinct from most homes on this stunning mountain, “The View” has some of the most amazing scenes that Idyllwild offers. Enjoy the sunset from the spacious deck each evening while relaxing in the hot tub! Visualize standing outside while observing the wildlife climb up the mountainside. If you want romance, what could be more perfect than stepping onto the deck and gazing at the stars? On warmer days, you may want to go outside to BBQ and enjoy a meal with the scenery. The main living room has hardwood floors. Cozy up to the wood-burning fireplace with a blower on cold evenings, or relax and view the wonderful surroundings. This exquisite home offers central heat and air conditioning, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms that easily sleep 8 to 10 guests. The 3rd bedroom features vaulted wood beam ceilings. Location, location, location!!! The View is beautifully appointed with all the amenities of a home and is only a ten-minute walk to town.

This vacation rental is equipped with air-conditioning.

-Cancellations: Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a full refund, with a $150.00 cancellation charge. Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund plus a $150.00 cancellation charge.
No Cancellations are Allowed for November, December, and January

- Pets: We do allow dogs, however, please note that there is a fee of $35 per dog per night. If you plan to bring more than one dog, you must obtain prior approval and additional fees may apply. When booking through selected third-party sites such as Airbnb, once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a payment request for the dog fee, which should be paid separately.

Parking: Free parking is available for 3 vehicles (Seasonal Restrictions Apply; chains are recommended in winter, and 4X4 is HIGHLY Recommended).

- Rental agreement: Please review our rental agreement for our house rules. You will receive an emailed version to sign, but if you prefer other options, please inquire.

- Age restrictions: Due to the new County of Ordinance 927.2: We no longer accept reservations for anyone under 21 years of age.

- Seasonal wood delivery: If available, there is a $25 fee per bundle (approximately 20 pieces). Please provide at least 5 days' notice for a Friday arrival date or at least 3 days' notice for any other day of the week. Please note that there are no refunds for this service.

- Confirmation: Upon booking this property through Airbnb, New Spirit Vacation Homes will send you a direct email confirming your reservation. Attached to this confirmation will be a contract you need to review, sign, and send back within 24 hours.

- Incidentals: We reserve the right to request payment for any incidentals. This includes but is not limited to firewood, pet fees, special occasion requests, personal grocery drop-offs, pay-per-view movies or sporting events, and damaged property.

Guests booking this home under the age of 25 years of age will provide an additional insurance for $70.00 non-refundable on the day of arrival.

Enjoy the View!

We loved our stay ... the view is spectacular, it's peaceful and quiet, and such a short distance (walkable even!) to town and lots of wonderful places to eat. It's exactly as pictured. Communication was clear and check in and check out went very smoothly. We would love to return again!

Great view but not luxury!

The cabin was nice and had an amazing deck and view. The interior was described as luxury but the decor was dated. The layout of the cabin is funky with stairs to each level. Expensive for what you got! It was close to town and convenient.

Just Right

We stayed at The View for my 65th birthday with our kids and 2 dogs and it did not disappoint! A cool place with very few quirks, an amazing deck and view, and easy proximity to town. Quirks: The kitchen has been stocked with spices and cookware and small appliances ~ but short people won’t be able to reach the microwave! Only the downstairs bedroom can be fully closed off as the other two have openings in the walls above the living room. If you’re bringing a dog that doesn’t come when called or tends to bolt, you’ll need to leash the dog outside. Lastly, the ping-pong table isn’t set up in the house, instead it’s folded up behind the carport so probably shouldn’t be on the listing. We will definitely consider staying here again when we return!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: - Our stay was anything but a dream: Reception is the first opportunity to impress a guest. Making them wait for the housekeeper after the check-in time is generally disrespectful of a guest. Telling them that the rental was ready and it is not... well, not my definition of a "dream vacation."In today's day of increasing identity theft, taking reasonable care of a guest's ID and credit card is important. Keeping photocopies is not a practice most hotels I worked at or have stayed at follow, and is not my definition of a "dream vacation."The rental company offered a substitute property knowing that there would be an open house next door during our visit, but implying at most there would be maintenance disturbances. No, they were not obligated to disclose this information but their marketing promises a "dream vacation." Appliances at a rental are always subject to maintenance issues. In my experience, the only way that a kitchen range is rented with three out of four burners malfunctioning is because of poor practices. Again, not my definition of a "dream vacation."Cleanliness is important. When you are charging prices similar to a luxury hotel, it's reasonable to expect similar hospitality standards. Cobwebs in high places under the skylights tarnish all perceptions of a "dream vacation."

Mixed Feelings

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are regulars and thought the view from this property was absolutely breathtaking! Maybe one of the best views from anywhere we have ever stayed. The house was spacious and they had more than enough towels for the six of us to enjoy the hot tub and shower as needed. The kitchen was well stocked but we couldn’t find sheet pans! We ended up buying a couple of disposable ones at the nearby store and problem solved! Now for the downside of our stay. The microwave is unbelievably high up and was unusable for 5 foot me. I had to rely on the taller folks in our party. There were ants upstairs and downstairs—-little tiny sugar ants. We sprayed for them ourselves and they honestly never went away. We had to be mindful to put things away pretty quickly or the ants would be on it. The other thing that was a big problem is at lease one mouse was in the home too. The property manager told us that when it’s hot like this, they’re bound to get in. They did offer to set a trap, but we only had one more day to go and a trap going off would be traumatic for the kids. We opted to just wait it out. They obviously knew about the mouse because we found a trap in the pantry that had been placed before we got there. There were some minor issues with cleanliness that we took care of ourselves with wipes we usually travel with anyway. I would have appreciated a discount from the property manager given the hassle of what we dealt with, but that was never offered. Overall, we had a nice stay, but we were a bit on edge. In its current condition, I would not recommend to a friend. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and removal of pests, I would happily return.

The master bedroom was spacious with a comfortable mattress (might have been a Tempur-Pedic) and high-quality bedding. The kitchen was well appointed. The view from the deck was spectacular with comfy seating for a group. There was so much attention to detail from this home from the stone paths from the carport to the front door to the thick bath towels next to the back door to obviously be used for the hot tub. This home seemed like a home.

Did not know we had to check in at an office prior to going to the house because that was not communicated till last minute after I asked. The jacuzzi did not work and they did not provide any refund for that just 1 hour later for check out. The bottom floor/bedroom of the place has no heat and was absolutely freezing. When checking out, the office was closed and no one was answering the phone when I called. The closed sign also said be back at 10 and it was approaching 11am with no one there. After reading all the signs on their wall, I found out I could put the keys in the basket. I wish someone would have told me this upon checking in because we wasted a good 30 minutes trying to figure out what to do. The views are great, but the rest was average or subpar. I wouldn’t stay here again. It wasn’t worth it for what it is. Hosts seems too overwhelmed with too many properties. I can imagine others to be the same. Not horrible, but little changes or just communication can go a long way.

There is a queen bed in the basement and a door to the basement room. There is another queen in a room with a curtain, but otherwise open to the living space and a loft bedroom with a queen and a futon and no curtain. Fine for a large family, but not a ton of privacy, otherwise. We enjoyed the Hot tub that worked great. Didn’t see a ping-pong table.

And I cannot say enough about the view. If possible, it is ever better than described. The house was clean and ready to go. They outfit it like a hotel! They even have robes! Six adults (my family) went up for Thanksgiving and there was everything we would need to cook our feast.Finally - service is amazing. They are extremely responsive. Will be back - and if you can't get this house, we can vouch for Spirit on any home.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a good time at the house. It had an amazing view, and we enjoyed our time there. the only issue was the sleeping arrangements. The cabin is advertised as sleeps 10, but in reality, only sleeps 7 comfortably. the futon is more like a bench which an adult cannot sleep on, maybe a 1 child, and its super hard, and we were not aware that we would be provided an air mattress for people to sleep in (its nowhere on the listing). the couch is not a sleeper sofa either so only 1 person can sleep there.

The home is very comfortable although the upstairs rooms tend to get a little warm. Ran into some issues

We enjoyed our stay. Deck in particular was great but some issues with jacuzzi. We didn't realize two of the three bedrooms were not private and opened onto the main living area so we had to creep around when others were sleeping. Luckily weather was such we could outside on the deck but wish we had known up front. Also serious ant problem in kitchen.

Reviewer Comments: The View had a cloudy/smelly hot tub and a significant ant problem. We reported the hot tub and they added some chemicals, but the water remained somewhat cloudy and smelly. We reported the ant problem (hundreds of ants swarming the ground floor bathroom) that we noticed a couple of days into our stay at the same time we decided to leave a day early. Because we did not give them time to rectify the problem, they did not give as any compensation. I’m not sure finding ants crawling in your bed is going to be fixed in a way that would have made us feel comfortable. There was also a pretty musty smell.

Great except a few things

We assumed the pingpong table was indoor but it was folded in the parking spot. We decided not to use it. Also the jacuzzi didn't work so I needed to call back and force then it was fixed on 2 nd day. The view was awesome and really enjoyed starty night though.

It was a great trip but the distance the listing said would never had worked for my handicapped husband. Walking back and forth for anyone would be unpleasant. Otherwise...awesome.
