About the host
Hosted by Jill Nunes
Hello! I love sharing my home with guests. I am retired from "many lives" and have been fortunate to have lived in many locations in CA, Seattle, Chicago and Boston. My son lives in Seattle now and I love visiting him the NW. I grew up in Tucson and have returned to my "roots". I particularly enjoy the live music and art scene here. I enjoy my solitude and the peace my home brings me, but I am always available to share stories and Southern AZ places of interest with my guests.
Why they chose this property
My father was the original owner of this property (1978). He loved sunrises and chose the lot so he could enjoy our amazing Tucson sunrises-(Tucson is famous for it's sunsets and they are spectacular here too). I bought the house from his estate in 2003 and have found comfort in caring for the home he loved so much. I really enjoy being so close to town and yet on the edge of our beautiful desert. In 15 minutes you can be at the top of Gates Pass in Saguaro National Park, the view at sunset is breathtaking.
What makes this property unique
Our desert resources are precious. The house uses solar electricity, grey water and water harvesting in the yard to conserve and preserve energy. The large back yard is my favorite spot. I sit high on the hill and the view is expansive. Bird feeders and fountains encourage wild life to visit. I have been lucky to encounter a fox and bobcats in the yard on rare occasions- (don't worry- they are more scared of us than we are of them!- If they see you, they run- but it's a moment you'll always remember).
