About the host
Hosted by Sarah Wilson

Growing up in Texas, many of my most cherished memories were made outside—running barefoot through pastures, camping under the stars, boating on warm summer lakes, or exploring the woods behind our home. There’s a magic that lives in those moments. A stillness. A sense of freedom.
Nature has always been where I’ve felt the most alive. It's where I learned to slow down, breathe deeper, and just be. There’s something almost sacred about the way the breeze moves through the trees, how the scent of pine lingers in the air, and the way the stars light up a night sky free of city noise and hustle.
In today’s fast-paced world, where we’re constantly pushed to do more, be more, produce more—time in nature offers a chance to reset. It grounds you. It brings you back to what really matters: connection, presence, joy, and peace.
That’s why Whispering Pines Hideaway was born.
Owning land has always been a dream—something that felt like a distant “someday.” But the moment we discovered this 15-acre slice of heaven tucked among the whispering pines and only five minutes from Lake Livingston, we knew it was time. Time to create a space not just for ourselves, but for others too—a place where families, friends, couples, and adventurers could come to unplug, recharge, and make lasting memories.
We didn’t just want to build a vacation rental—we wanted to create an experience. A peaceful hideaway that feels like stepping back into simpler times.
Whispering Pines Hideaway offers the best of both worlds: adventure and rest.
Take a morning walk along shaded trails, spotting deer and listening to the birds greet the day. Let the kids cannonball into the pool while you sip coffee in the rocking chair. Play a competitive game of ping-pong, corn hole, or horseshoes, then end the evening gathered around the fire pit, sharing laughs and stories under a sky full of stars.
