About this property
Ocean Front Penthouse Condo on South Rosarito's Best Coast
Penthouse condo on the top corner floor of the best section of the baja coastline, overlooking beautiful rock reef breaking waves just south of Rosarito at K-36.7 and just north of las Rocas hotel and Puerto Nuevo Lobster Village.
The Penthouse has all of the amenities necessary for a comfortable extended retreat, including Directv with 52 inch plasma, DVD, Denon stereo with surround sound, central heat, granite countertops, full kitchen, extra large patio, walk-in showers, jacuzzi hot tub, 14 foot ceilings, 9 foot doors, a large open entertainment room, and a beautiful 180 degree view right on top of the ocean.
With two very nice king size bedrooms and a third bunk bedroom, it is the perfect getaway for a family or two couples. The condo is kept immaculate and up-to-date with most things replaced when there are signs of wear.
With five different waves viewable from the balcony, and K-38 a half km to the south, this is an ideal location for a surfing-oriented family. There is a family friendly white sand beach walking distance from the property. A variety of exceptional restaurants are within a few kilometers driving. South Rosarito is a short drive though artisan's row. Valle Guadalupe is 45 minutes for the wine connoisseurs.
The south facing beach often blocks windy afternoon conditions found in other parts a few kilometers north or south. After 15 years of surfing up and down the Baja coast, I knew this was where I wanted my getaway. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family enjoys it!

This property is just gorgeous. Spacious and well kept. Particularly outstanding was the fully equipped kitchen, the huge patio with dining alfresco option and the gorgeous views of the Calafia and the bay.
Everything was wonderful, Scott was a great host, the house was beautiful, the view and sound of the ocean unmatched. My mine and I enjoyed our time here. Next time we will book longer. Thanks again.

Place is amazing beautiful views ,quality building
Loved it. Make sure to print out and take your paperwork with you or they make you drive to rosarito to print it out. Nice and clean just watch out for the elevator, I would suggest taking the stairs. We did get stuck for 2 minutes kinda scary. But other then that it is an amazing experience, thanks again

Thank you for the nice review. The guards were never that strict. There's been some incidents with people entering the grounds to use the amenities so the HOA has instructed to the guards to be more diligent in their review of people entering the community. While that is good, it can also be frustrating if a guest forgets to print the access pass. I'll review the new rules to see if I can email the guards direct to avoid this scenario for future tenants. Thank you for the heads up.
Oh.. and the elevator -- my nemesis. It usually works. But it does take a siesta from time to time.
We had a wonderful stay (3 nights) and left by 5 am Sunday to beat the long border crossing! The description is accurate and communication with the host is great. The views and the overall comfort of this condo outweigh any tiny mishaps. It is far from anything, but we grocery shopped and drove around to discover! The beds are comfy and the walk to beach was great! My kids enjoyed it and we were all able to relax and take in the views. Read the email the host sends in detail so that there are no surprises! The security guards are nice and friendly and we felt safe at all times. We hope to make this our annual Baja spot!
Very spacious, clean condo with a great view. We were a little surprised to see construction rt next to it (the view will not be a corner view for long) but, thankfully, we couldnt hear any noise from the inside. The patio is huge with nice furniture & a hammock. The view is great. The pool & game room were so fun for my kids. The pool was very warm. No beach access. We had a lot of trouble at check-in with security... but the property manager helped us out some. It just took a very long time to check in & we almost left because they were very rude to us, but, we are glad we stayed because it was worth the hassle!
Our family stayed here for a little over a week. We did so much research prior to settling on this condo. Here are my detailed thoughts:
Pros: the view. You just can't beat it. Listening to the waves never gets old and you don't need white noise. Staff is friendly. Feels very safe. Place is large and spacious. Kitchen has everything you need to cook! Large pantry to put your food in. Great spacious fridge. The ability to walk to the beach at low tide was dreamy!! We also did lots of tidepooling which was a fun surprise. There are tons of shells to collect along the rocks. Great food recommendations. Las Rocas is a MUST - so much fun! The pool was great when it was open. Property is pretty clean and kept nice. So great to have washer and dryer on site. There was also workout equipment which was awesome!! Master bathroom is great - jacuzzi bathtub was great. The pizza place was SOOOO good! Highly recommend. Scott was so easy to work with, always responded quickly and kindly. We are already planning to go back!!
Cons: the fans in the main area don't really work and neither does the AC (thankfully it wasn't too hot and we didn't need it). TV and stereo instructions are outdated, so we weren't able to use the stereo. BBQ didn't work. We emailed Lucy the manager and she responded with - everything should work and there's a backup BBQ (charcoal that didn't work either). Not any help. Porch lights were out. The rooms along the road side are kind of loud - have white noise and you'll be good. The bunk bed room isn't really a room but it worked fine for our kids! Pool was closed a lot and it sucks that you have to pay to use the hot tub. The guest shower wouldn't ever get as hot as the master. It took forever to get back through the border. Research when a good time to go is and don't get stuck like us!
Bottom line: it was AWESOME and we are already planning to go back. I love detailed reviews because they help me pick the best place and plan a successful trip. Enjoy and thank you Scott!

Thank you for all of the kind words and nice detailed review. I'll respond to the cons for others. In short, I agree. The big fans have been giving me trouble and finding a qualified electrician has been a challenge. There is no AC, nor is that represented. It isn't needed other than maybe 2 week per year. The store bought thermostat does show AC as an option. I should put a label that reads "heater only." I do not include those outdated TV instructions in the email so they must have been printed in a drawer. Yes, the receiver went kaput on me. The TV is new and the speakers work fine meanwhile -- actually better than those old surround sound speakers. It's been an ongoing project to overhaul the entertainment system. The two BBQs not working is news to me. I will review that. The salt air eats them up. The patio is getting remodeled. They installed that nice slider on the north end to block the wind, but they still need to stucco and reinstall the porch lights. Yes the rooms other than the master do have the road going by -- like every condo along the coast. The bunk bed is more of an accommodation room bedroom/utility laundry room for kids although the bunks are sturdy up to 175lbs. This information is written in the property description on the website. The unheated hot tub can be an inconvenience without planning. The community is smaller than most. That means there isn't enough HOA revenue to keep the hot tub heated 24/7. The guest shower is also news. It is a new water heater so I think that I just need to turn up the temperature dial a bit. The border can be easy and it can be horrific -- especially on Sunday if you get a late start. There are apps that track the wait times. I always take the 2 out around east of TJ and go through Otay. Next time please text or call me -- I would've driven a BBQ down from San Clemente for you. :-)
This penthouse is exactly as described, but honestly, the pictures do not do it justice. The moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a beautiful paradise. The master bedroom is amazing, with a jacuzzi and breathtaking ocean views. The balcony is huge, and waking up to the sight and sound of the ocean every morning was truly unforgettable. We had a small issue during check-in because security had not received the information about our arrival. However, I contacted Scott, and he responded quickly and resolved the situation right away. Lucy was also incredibly kind and answered all of my questions promptly. Before booking, I specifically asked if the elevator was working because I was traveling to celebrate Father’s Day with my dad, who cannot climb stairs. Lucy went above and beyond by sending me a WhatsApp video from inside the elevator the day before our arrival to reassure me that it was working properly. One of my favorite features was the hammock on the balcony. Relaxing there while listening to the waves was such a wonderful bonus. This was my first time renting through Vrbo, and I absolutely loved the experience. I am completely delighted with this place and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway.Thank you, Scott and Lucy! I hope to return soon.
Great view! I would recommend this place. It had everything we needed to relax. I would rent it again. It's a very peaceful and relaxing spot. The view was amazing, and we loved the hot tub. Thank you for letting us relax at your condo.
Took the wife here for our anniversary. This property is beautiful. A great balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Easy walk down to the beach. Not much around here for dinner. You will need to drive or take a taxi.
We had an emergency that led us to Rosarito, being able to find this listing and it being exactly how it was representative made it all better. The owner was great to work with, he was attentive to my text and made me feel important! He had his manager go check the wifi which was not working when he sent her but worked perfectly all weekend. The elevator was working most of the weekend and when it didn’t the guard came to help bring our things down! The only mishap was during check in was in did not bring the pass…..BRING A PRINTED COPY OF THE PASS ATTACHED TO THE INSTRUCTIONS!! Oh and let the shower run In the spare room for warm water. This was a great plans and I really would rent this again!!

Amazing views
Property was gorgeous and home was very clean. The area was convenient to Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo. We had an amazing weekend and would love to visit again!
Highly recommend staying here. Just bring some movies “dvd’s” as the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. House has the best view, felt very safe, and beds were comfy!
My kids and I love our stay..
The only thing the day before and the morning of ck out we had no Wi-Fi that means no TV we played cards all day. Other than that it was great stay…
Great place, the view.... and the kitchen love it!
Enjoyed our few days at this beautiful place. Everything was as stated, only issue was internet was slow at first and the weather wasn't in our favor but other than that everything was great!
It was a very nice condo, it’s better in person than the pictures posted on the website. Hopefully we can come back in the near future!

About the host
Hosted by Scott Brooks
We are San Clemente residents and in the business of wealth management, retirement and estate planning, and fortune protection. San Clemente is known as the Spanish Village by the Sea. Rosarito is our San Clemente of past years.
Why they chose this property
After surfing the northern baja for over 25 years, this location was determined to be the best for waves, weather, reduced winds, coastline views, access to the best restaurants, the town of Rosarito, and more.
What makes this property unique
The views are spectacular. The best local restaurants could compete in any town around the world. There are many (less popular) surf spots that are less crowded or empty. The condo has many upgrades, with granite counter tops, jacuzzi tub, extra large showers. It is well-kept, cared-for, and we expect the same of our respectful guests.
