About this property
Cozy, Mtn Views, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Enclosed Yard
Comfortably sleeping 4, this cozy retreat is hidden away amidst the rolling sagebrush hills of El Prado and is a perfect destination for friends, couples and families eyeing their next escape. Enjoy panoramic mountain vistas, unwind beneath the twinkling stars in the bubbling hot tub, and gather around the inviting fire pit to recall your favorite Taos memories. Conveniently located, it’s a perfect homebase for your upcoming adventure!
Arriving at the property, you will find covered parking for one vehicle under the carport. Additional vehicles can park on the gravel driveway. The front “red” door features a WiFi-enabled smart lock for hassle-free check-in, supplemented by a key in a nearby lockbox for any unforeseen issues.
Living Room:
As you step into the home, you will enter a bright and cozy living room with viga ceilings and mountain views from every window. The walls are decorated with original art picked up along one of our many southwest adventures.
Sink into the plush couch, enjoy the 50’’ TV, or play one of the many board games. It’s a great spot to rest and unwind after a long day of exploring and enjoying all that Taos has to offer. Yoga mats available should you be interested in a sunrise or sunset morning session. Please BYOL (bring your own logins) to enjoy all of your own streaming services.
Primary Bedroom:
Reflecting the golden hues of a southwest sunset, the primary bedroom is a relaxing retreat. Furnished with a queen-sized bed and exceptional linens (an amazing sleep is in your future!), southwest bedside tables, a matching dresser, reading lights and a full-length mirror ensure the bedroom is fully appointed.
Within the primary bedroom, there is a dedicated laptop-friendly workspace outfitted with a leather chair, a writing desk, a collection of our favorite books, and excellent WiFi.
The ensuite bathroom includes a vanity with tile counter and a beautiful shower with stone tile surround. We provide complimentary bath essentials, including body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hand wash.
Second Bedroom:
The second bedroom has a pair of twin beds, bedside tables with reading lights, and a small closet. It also showcases a fun hand painted mural, courtesy of my talented wife, depicting Taos Ski Valley and Casita Colonias.
Second Bathroom:
Located next to the washing machine and dryer, the second bathroom has a single vanity with tile counter and a stone tile walk in shower. Like the primary bathroom, the second bathroom is stocked with complimentary bath essentials and linens.
Kitchen:
The living room extends to a well-equipped kitchen featuring brand-new stainless-steel appliances (please note there is no dish washer, but the view will make quickly washing a few dishes well worth it!). Fellow cooks will find a thoughtful selection of cookware and dinnerware. If you’re not enjoying one of Taos’ delicious restaurants, you’ll have a great set up for a home cooked meal.
Basic oils and spices are provided.
Dining Room:
The dining room has a handmade wooden table and chairs that accommodates four with beautiful views out the back windows.
Backyard:
The backdoor opens onto a small rear portal with a gorgeous mountain view. Down one step you will find a small flagstone patio with a pair of Polywood Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. You’ll also find an outdoor couch and a pair of chairs with cushions .
Turn the corner to the left and you will find the Nordic hot tub that will make evenings staring up at the stars even more perfect.
We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay.

Attention to Detail:
✓ Cleanliness is a top priority for us and we pride ourselves on welcoming you into a sparkling clean home! Our cleaning fee is pass through, meaning that the entire sum is paid to our meticulous cleaning team.
✓ Hot tubs can get quite unsanitary. But not ours! Our hot tub is professionally sanitized. Please check the guidebook on how to use the hot tub and what you can do to help us keep it clean.
✓ We provide premium linens for each guest.
✓ We provide complimentary bath essentials, including body wash, shampoo, conditioner and hand wash.
✓ We provide basic paper goods and consumables - paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, sponges, laundry detergent and dryer sheets.
✓ A new washing machine and dryer are available for your use during your stay.
✓ By using the hot tub, you acknowledge that using the hot tub involves inherent risks, including risk of injury or illness, and you agree to use the hot tub at your own risk. You will follow all instructions provided in the guidebook and hold harmless the property owner from any claims, damages, or losses arising out of your use of the hot tub. While maintained by a professional weekly service, guests are asked to dispense one tablespoon of shock per person per use to help maintain water clarity and cleanliness.
✓ Natural materials including flagstone, rock and gravel are inherently uneven and can shift over time. Landscaped areas are not perfectly level and may pose a tripping hazard. Please watch your step.
Other Things to Note:
While we employ a preventative pest control service, the property is surrounded by natural sagebrush that many critters call home, including rodents, snakes, and coyotes.
Like many homes in northern New Mexico, we enjoy radiant heat but DO NOT have air conditioning. For those rare hot days in late July and early August, each bedroom and the living room are furnished with ceiling fans to keep guests cool. On the rare occasion that Taos is “hot”, we encourage opening doors and windows in the early morning and late evening and ensuring the window covering are closed to keep out the midday heat.
Please note that our cleaning fee is “pass through”, meaning the entire sum is “passed on” to our amazing cleaning crew to support high quality work and a living wage.
Complimentary firewood for the fire pit is stacked near the front door.
All switches labeled so you spend your time relaxing and not figuring out which doodad turns the lights on.
