Amazing stay

This is our fourth time at Makena Surf and the first time in this unit. It was an amazing stay. The ground floor unit was spacious and well located. Loved the upgrades to the pool area and the addition of pickleball in the tennis court. Beach was incredible as always

Perfect location in paradise

Makena Surf was wonderful for our family. The location could not be better. The unit is beautiful…comfy beds, great decor and all the kitchen things you could possibly need. The lanai is like an extension of the home and a great place to have dinner and watch sunsets every evening. We even had a pod of whales entertain us! We have stayed at Makena many times over the years but this is our favorite unit by far!! We will be back!!

Amazing trip

We booked our trip last minute and couldn't be happier with our stay here. The pictures for the listing need to be updated. All the furniture has more of a beachy feel. The views are amazing. The beach is a short walk away with great snorkeling with turtles. Wailea is a short drive for shopping and restaurants. The property is quiet and everyone is friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Better than the photos!

From the moment you enter this home, you are greeted with sweeping ocean views, it’s breathtaking! The unit itself is well maintained, and stocked very well! Coming from property management, I noticed how well kept the unit, grounds and common areas are kept up. The only few suggestions we have are 1) add additional blankets on beds (they only provide 1 sheet/blanket- the front room gets very cold at night) 2) The hot water doesn’t get very hot, turning it up a bit would be great. If you are considering this property, you won’t regret it!

Beautiful Condo and Property

Stayed 3 nights in this amazing condo in July. Very spacious and comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen with top of the line appliances, including a great outdoor BBQ grill. Corner unit with wraparound lanai is amazing for dining, watching sunsets and lounging. Loved the walk-out to grassy area above the beach. Two beaches accessible via short walk from back door. Was a little concerned about the condition of the bathrooms, since there were no pictures posted on site, but was pleasantly surprised - they were both very nice. Also, a few furniture upgrades not reflected in site pictures. Everything is top notch. Only complaint is air conditioning didn't work very well. Had difficulty getting it to bring temp under 76, so sleeping was uncomfortable.

F112 is a very nice unit

We spent 4 nights here in August 2012. 4 adults and 3 kids under 14. The unit is very nice as noted in other reviews but the bedrooms and bathrooms are only average. New TV's in 2 of the rooms but no digital cable. With the Olympics going on that would have been nice but a big deal. The beds and bedding are fine but for a unit of this type you would expect a more upgraded experience. With that said the main space and deck is super. You could not be more ocean front and the beaches are great. Fish and turtles everywhere. You never have to leave this place as snorkeling is right out the front door. The kitchen has everything you need and the grill is super convenient. We had an amazing time and would absolutely come back again. Great family place.

Excellent Location, Beautiful Views, Sun, Sand, Surf, Snorkeling, Sea Turtles, Whales - its all here

We couldn't be happier with our decision to rent this unit. It idealy suited our needs for a family vacation with our two adult sons and their girlfriends. The unit and grounds are lovely, well maintained, private, and quiet. There is easy access to sand beaches and surf a minute's walk north or south from the unit, and, the rocky shoreline out front has interesting tide pools and breaking surf. From here we watched whales and beautiful sunsets. We snorkeled right out front, entering the water at one beach and exiting at another, and saw many interesting and colorful fish and coral. We also saw sea turtles while snorkeling here (vs not seeing any on our Molokini/TurtleTown snorkeling cruise). The pool looks nice but we didn't use it. The kitchen facilities have a great selection of dishes and cookware and we enjoyed grilling and eating on the lanai. The beds (and other furniture) were comfortable and we really enjoyed our visit here. Dawn, the owner's representative was very helpful both regarding the property and providing us information about Maui in general. The Destination Resorts people did a very nice job on handling the registration and responding to a few requests from us during our visit. We feel this rental through VRBO was an excellent decision and value. We would highly recommend this unit and location to anyone taking a Maui vacation.

Unforgettable stay and gorgeous sunsets!

Our family enjoyed three unforgettable nights at this wonderful condo and you couldn't ask for better views or location! On entering, all were amazed at the wall to wall windows with a perfect view of the ocean where we enjoyed the most spectacular sunsets every night. The property was very clean, beds comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked to suit every cooking need. We enjoyed the openness of the kitchen/dining areas and took advantage of the lanai every chance we could to watch the activities taking place in the water below. Lot's of paddle boarders, kayakers and snorkelers in the water, and Snorkel Bob's was located right up the road to rent equipment. The beach was very accessible and you could enter the water to snorkel - lot's of sea life to enjoy and the turtles were in abundance right below the rocks and could be seen frolicking in the surf right off the lanai. This was a very popular spot for snorkeling, so you didn't have to travel very far!! We did not take advantage of the pool this trip as we spent most of our time on the beach or lanai, but the pool was literally right outside the front door of this condo. Did not turn on a TV, but the WiFi worked well, and they also had puzzles available. The grounds were very well maintained and a security guard would patrol the premises to check on the properties, so you felt very safe. If you are looking to get away and do nothing but lounge around, I highly recommend this condo - everything is right there for you to enjoy! We will definitely keep this property in mind the next time we visit and it met all of our expectations and then some - Aloha!!
