We had a great time at the Harbor House. The property was clean and updated. Most of the amenities that Baileys Harbor offers are within walking distance and many other Door County attractions are only a 10-15 minute drive. We would recommend it to families with kids of any age.

Beautifully restored and great location!
Harbor House is beautifully decorated and had everything to meet our families needs. The house is in a great downtown location. We enjoyed walking to the brewery, The Ridges, farmers market and the marina. You do not need a car to get anywhere in town. The beds were so comfortable we all slept great with the windows open and the fresh night air. The kitchen is very well equipped which made cooking as a family fun! We also enjoyed breakfast at the Fish Market which is right across the street. Thanks for sharing the Harbor House.

PERFECT HOME! PERFECT LOCATION!
We absolutely loved staying in this beautifully renovated home in Bailey's Harbor! Our hosts made sure that everything we needed was in the home, even Alexa! There were plenty of clean towels . We loved the home so much that we wanted to stay there and relax instead of exploring!!! The dishwasher, full kitchen and full sized washer and dryer were perfect, too. The house is meticulously clean. We would've to come back sometime!
Minor challenges related to keypad function and access to part of the property -- but those were handled quickly and appropriately. The WiFi connection is not strong but the manager acknowledged that challenge ahead of our arrival and we made alternative arrangements (hot spotting). Do not count on streaming or WiFi-driven television at this property. Staring at screens is not a reason to visit Door County, however, and this property positions you well for all of the good things up there.

Beautiful location
The location of this beautiful home is very convenient and the decor nicely coordinated. It was also amazingly clean, and the hosts responded very quickly to my question for a local recommendation. Having a washer and dryer was wonderful. However, coming in winter with the amount of snow that the Midwest has seen, the shoveled doorway to the back door was very narrow given that guests will be carrying in suitcases, etc. There was also significant snowpack on the steps that made for a precarious entry to the home. The heat was not working in one of the bedrooms, and the storm windows throughout the downstairs were frozen open, making it cold for reasonable comfort. Lastly, the expectation (which we were told after booking) that we strip beds and haul linens was unreasonable considering the cleaning charge assessed at booking.

Great Location
We were in Door County for a wedding and this house is in a prime location in Baileys Harbor - walkable to everything.
Two things we were a little concerned about. First, when we arrived on Thursday night, there was a very strong musty odor which we thought was just because the house is old so we opened some windows and closed the laundry door and that helped immensely and the smell was gone by Friday afternoon. Second, the WiFi was really spotty as my husband and I both tried to take a few work calls from there on Friday and the internet was really going in and out so best to find a place with good WiFi if you're hoping to work from the house.
However, with all of that being said, it was a great place to stay for the wedding, great location, the beds were super comfortable, the property manager was very communicative, and a nice place for our family to spend time together. Definitely give it a try if you want to visit Baileys Harbor!

Excellent new rental option for downtown Baileys Harbor!
My husband and I + our 2 teens stayed at Harbor House last month; we were just the 2nd set of renters here. And we’re so excited about this new property! The location is excellent - along with lovely water views it’s also super close to (in our opinion) the best spots in Baileys Harbor - Door County Brewing Co. and Blue Ox!
The nautical decor fits perfectly with the charm of this older house, and the owners have thought of every detail. Enjoyed the super comfy mattresses (nice to have a king in the master!) along with the higher end pillows and bed linens, and of course the sparkling new / updated bathrooms were lovely! FYI there’s a giant window in the master bath shower, so you kind of get the feel of being in an outdoor shower. (But don’t worry, the side yard you’re looking at is wooded/private 😀)
Was also nice to sit out on the side patio or front steps with our coffee in the morning and watch the town come to life...all those other folks had to find parking spots...but WE were literally just steps from the best coffee (Bearded Heart) and the best breakfast (Harbor Grill) in town!
Owner Pam was also SUPER responsive and helpful...she answered our many questions in a flash, ahead of our arrival...and once there helped us with some special requests too.
Such a great addition to the Baileys Harbor rental pool! Choose Harbor House! You won’t regret it 😀
We stayed for the Thanksgiving Holiday with our family. It was fitted with serious comfort in mind. It was perfect for our family and made our stay in Baileys Harbor memorable. Would recommend it!
Had a great family trip with 6 adults and 1 dog, 4 of which were visiting Door County for the first time. The house has a lot of character and the bunk room would be amazing for kids - fun and a lot of extra play room. All of the beds were dressed except for the bunks, so a little bit of a challenge dressing the top bunk while balancing on the bunk ladder :-). As described in the listing, for the upstairs rooms only one of the two queen rooms and the bunk room have A/C window units, so since it was August we did have two adults sleeping in the bunk beds so they could have a room with A/C so just keep that in mind. The kitchen was well stocked and we throughly enjoyed the coffee amenities. The location is amazing with walking distance to everything on the little Baileys Harbor strip so we walked to Chives (the restaurant once and food truck twice), Har Bar, Cornerstone Pub, Heirloom Cafe, and just across the street to the Harbor Fish market. Also walked to the marina for a lighthouse boat tour.
Everything was great about our stay. The location was amazing. Plenty of places within easy walking distance. The home is very well decorated and appointed. Pam was great to work with. We will be back!!!
Harbor House is nicely restored and decorated. Many amenities. Fully equipped kitchen. Pam was easy to reach and responded quickly by text or phone if we had questions.
Charm oozes throughout this 4 bedroom home. Conveniently located in Bailey's Harbor with views of the water. Walking distance to restaurants. Clean with all the amenities including wi-fi. We prefer to stay in Bailey's Harbor as it is less congested than Egg Harbor, Fish Creek or Sister Bay, but it is still a close 10-15 minute drive to all of those towns. Great location and home. Definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Door County and want to stay on the east side of the penisula.
Our multi-generational group stayed at Harbor House for a week. We enjoyed the property and loved the convenient location. Being right by the coffee shop and brewery was wonderful. We would definitely consider staying here again.
This house was very comfortable for my husband and I and our adult children. We hang out at the house, sit on the patio or we could walk across the street for fabulous coffee and bakery/light breakfast or walk across the other way for a lovely full breakfast on the lake. Hiking in the shady Ridges area (also walkable from the house) was wonderful. Chives food carts offer really great food, several small parks with access to the water were beautiful, and the brewery with music and a couple of fire pits outside was a huge hit as well! All within walking distance from the house. Fabulous vacation spot!
What a lovely home. Everything needed to stay in and cook but right in the heart of everything happening in down town BH. Attentive hosts. Beautiful home.
Beautiful restored vintage home in lovely small town. Very comfortable beds and everything else you need for a great stay.

Why they chose this property
We purchased this house with the intention of renting it out and we knew it would require a lot of work to get the house ready for guests. The house was previously a garden shop, so it wasn't set up for living in at all. Our journey transforming this house into what it is today was not without its fair share of trials, stress and maybe a few tears, but in the end the house has become a source of pride and joy for us that we couldn't have even imagined when we first purchased the house. We hope you enjoy the house as much as we do!
