4 bedroom (2 king, 2 queen), 3 bath 2240 sq ft home sits on a hill with 10+ provate acres full of wildlife, located at the end of a quiet neighborhood of Bar Harbor. This open concept Colonial home was built in 2014 and is positioned to enjoy all day sun and fabulous sunsets, with a 40 X 12 foot deck to enjoy every moment of those views and a patio underneath in the shade.

**New 2025 lounge deck set with propane fire: seats 5 - couch, 2 swivel rocker chairs and a coffee table w/fire center!

*7 night minimum stay in peak summer months with Saturday check in/out weekly June thru September

Pricing reflects main home which features a large open kitchen, dining and living space highlighted by a two-tier island with four seats, with one bedroom and bath on 1st floor, and another 3 bedrooms, 2 baths on 2nd floor (Master bedroom *2025 new Nectar premium mattress KING bed; master bath has own double shower and jacuzzi tub). Large windows let natural sunlight shine through all day, and because we are on a hill, is also great for viewing the amazing night sky in Maine!

You may make a request with owner if you wish for your dog to join you (additional $150 per, see rental agreement).

With a 40 foot deck and patio below off the daylight basement, there's an additional 1000 sq feet to enjoy the outdoors, without even stepping foot in to the grass in the large yard

Note: If you wish to invite more than 8 to join your visit, the daylight basement is another open living area with a pair if reclining love seats (seats 4), coffee table, a public table and chairs, plus has a large full bathroom and additional space (up to 4 more, for max 12). Please message owners for rates.

Home is located at the end of a lovely neighborhood road great for walking dogs or kids to ride bikes, conveniently right off Rte 3, approximately half way from bridge on to island and village green/downtown area of Bar Harbor. A large, spacious home situated in close proximity to all the adventures of Mount Desert Island and Acadia national park. We are around corner from Crooked Road or Norway Drive - a common cut over to get to Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Bass Harbor, Tremont, or all the other quiet and more hidden areas of MDI and Acadia (Beechcliff is one of our favorites).

There are two excellent guide books and a map of Acadia for guests. Plus some board games, books, puzzles, and some movies with DVD player. High speed internet and 2 smart TVs located in living spaces and in master bedroom for your favorite subscriptions. All TVs use Roku, where you are welcome to use our basic channels (Amazon prime) or YouTubeTV.

We are environmental stewards and love renters who also believe in conserving water, leaving no trace behind, and have a ‘leave it as you found it or better’ mentality. This home has a private well and septic system where extreme constant water use has potential to overcome the natural supply. Like all private wells, they are self sustaining if you allow for water to replenish between use. You cannot flush any grease or food products down drain and should never flush anything besides tp down the toilet (even if packaging may say ‘flushable’).

Closest water - 3 miles to Hadley Point public inlet or a 5 minute car ride to Hulls Cove; Or just walk 1 mile to Hamilton Pond and Salsbury Cove or 1.5 miles to Emery Cove where MDI Biological Laboratory is located.

Ensure windows are closed, and start a load of towels to give the cleaner a head start. ALL garbage - cardboard, plastics, paper, etc. -goes in trash bags. Do not leave any trash loose. [Extra fee]
Add a note about your adventures on our guest journal on white table in living room.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Renters are expected to treat our home with all the care and concern as if it were their own and leave home in same condition you found it please.
Full transparency expected - please notify of broken or damaged items. ALL guests must be disclosed ahead of time; additional fees above 8.
Only well behaved dog allowed, who will not be allowed on furniture, and if owner cleans up after pet fully. A Pet fee of $125 applies when allowed.

We loved the location of the house, isolated yet very close to main roads, Bar Harbor and Acadia entrances. It is very comfortable and well stocked with everything you could possibly need even walking sticks and a knapsack that we borrowed a couple of times.

We really enjoyed the private location and the spacious setup — plenty of room for our large family. The living room, dining room, and porch all had enough comfortable seating for the eight of us.The host was very easy to communicate with and shared helpful tips on local activities and where to buy groceries. Great proximity to Acadia National Park

Fantastic location for exploring Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Sunny Acres was an ideal place for our annual brother hiking holiday specifically bedrooms, bed size, bathrooms, and a barbecue. Great hosts. Would highly recommend.

We were very pleased with this house for our getaway. We had eight adults and two children under six and the house had plenty of room and enough bathrooms for our group. Peace of heaven

So very grateful this home and property was available for our family vacation to Maine. Great location to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The house and property are absolutely beautiful and peaceful; we even had the opportunity to see the biggest buck in the woods surrounding the house! We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets from the deck. Kellie thought of everything a family would need while staying there; the amenities were perfect. Would love the opportunity the next time we visit Maine to be welcomed back to Kellie's peace of heaven!

Woodsy and relaxing

Lovely home at the end of a cul-de-sac. Nice big yard where the deer and wild turkey would visit. Room to play frisbee and soccer in the yard. A relaxing hammock too. The layout of the house was great for our group. We had 6 adults and 2 children two years old and younger. Wonderful time to relax with family.

We had a great stay at this spacious home near the mainland and a few miles to the Acadia Park entrance. The house was a wonderful hub to explore the park, the town of Bar Harbor and more distant lobster pounds. A big plus is that the house is on a large (dark at night) and quiet lot (about 13 acres). It is away from bar harbor noise and allows for bird watching and hearing nature. The house is modern, well lite, and extremely clean. The kitchen is large and well equipped allowing us to cook all breakfasts and a few evening meals... a real cost saver! The multiple ceiling fans kept the house cool. The deck is large and contains multiple comfortable chairs and an outdoor table, a gas grill, and a gas fire table. There is a washer and dryer... all allowing for a comfortable stay. A three-ring binder provides tips on the area and ads/ pamphlets. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and enjoyed our conversation. We would staying again if coming back to the area!

Had a wonderful stay at this home. Spacious, clean and kitchen was big and had everything we needed and more! Beds were comfortable and the whole house was spacious. The deck was very nice and we saw several stars and the Milky Way from there. House is located in a nice quiet wooded area. Kellie was great, she checked in to be sure we had what we needed and even before we arrived was quick to respond to any questions I had. She had great suggestions to what to see|do in the area. We had 4 adults in our group and would recommend to anyone!

Perfect location, clean spacious home

This is our 4th summer in Bar Harbor...we were looking for the perfect place that was centrally located to downtown but close enough to not make the drive to Schoodic and SW harbor...the location is amazing. It is quiet and private and the views from the deck are so serene, we had plenty of deer grazing and the birds chirping made us open a bird app to identify the sounds. The house is well equipped with all amentities, the kitchen is well stocked with all supplies. We traveled with our 2 sons and they were thrilled to be able to pick their own room and have their own space. Every nook of this property is comfortable!

Great Location Close To Everything

This home is in a great location within short distance from the main Acadia entrance and close to Bar Harbor. The house was perfect for two families to share comfortably and was quiet and beautiful. I was not happy with the amount of constant texts and messages from the host however. When on vacation we like to take it easy and relax, not easy to do with three small children to wrangle. The host was texting me often about getting her maintenence person into the house (two days during our 1 week stay) and I felt pressured that we should leave and get out and about early and often, plus an early morning phone call and text about the garbage going out, which we had already done. Our trip would have been more enjoyable without this disruption, otherwise it was a great place to stay.

Spacious park like setting great for families

The main house layout and amenities were great for our family and we enjoyed the large kitchen, deck, living room, and yard. Extra towels, beach towels, umbrellas, jackets, and head lamp and so many extra touches made it feel like a home away from home. Two of the 4 beds in the main house were very soft and sagged in the middle and that made for less than ideal sleeping for some. The lower unit that another family member rented for part of the time was very musty and would have been hard to hang out in if we had needed it for that. Given the musty smell, it was a very high price to pay in my opinion. The trip left on a bad note as the host messaged me just after we left about 2 things that had just broken as we were leaving and I had not yet had a chance to tell her as the grand baby was crying in the car and it wasn’t yet check out time. The message implied I had hid the broken items from her. The cutlery drawer that collapsed as we were leaving was likely not the first time it broke as the pressboard was stripped and we couldn’t fix it. It was very obviously broken and no effort was made to hide it. A small plastic window tab also popped off when I went to close the window upon checking out as we left them open the entire time. I found the host’s tone upsetting as I always disclose if something breaks and take responsibility. I would not have minded if she had just asked about them rather than assuming they broke earlier in the week and we were trying to hide it.

Family Stay in Acadia

We had a great time staying here. The house is located a convenient short drive from the national park. It is in a quiet neighborhood which makes for a good basecamp for both hiking and visiting Bar Harbor. The house has plenty of sleeping space. The master suite has a large jacuzzi tub to relax after hiking. It rained during our stay but the deck seemed like a perfect spot to unwind after a busy day hiking.

Raised in southern Maine, met my husband in college in central Maine, and we relocated our family (2 daughters) here for a job in 2013. We care deeply about the Mount Desert Island community, Friends of Acadia, and are avid hikers and year round outdoor people. In summer, you can typically find us fishing or boating on the lake near our other home in Belgrade, Maine.

Why they chose this property

We built this home on this hillside because we loved the views, the land, the wildlife, the neighborhood, and the close proximity to all of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

We love the outdoors, and had to have a full length patio and deck as a first priority wth the home (each 40 feet long). The planned garage will hopefully become a reality in 2027!

What makes this property unique

The acres of wilderness surrounding the home is truly special. The sunsets are spectacular from the deck. The night sky is just incredible. The sun shines in the windows all day long with how the home is positioned, which is especially appreciated when sunlight is shortest in Maine, Because we are on the hill, the views looking across the sky, even tracking the moon crossing the sky is pretty amazing at night!
