Extremely Disappointing StayOur stay at this property was far below expectations and completely unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, there was a strong, persistent, and very unpleasant odor throughout the house. It made it uncomfortable to be there, yet when we reported it to the host, their only response was that no previous guests or cleaners had ever complained. They asked for more details, which we provided, but then never responded again.We reached out to VRBO for help. The host told them: “No similar issues have been reported. After that, I did not receive actionable follow-up details indicating a problem.” This means our complaint and the complaints of six other guests about the odor were dismissed simply because no one else had mentioned it. That is unacceptable. A real problem shouldn’t be ignored just because it’s new.To make matters worse, the pull-out sofa had a large, disgusting white stain. Clearly, the property had not been properly cleaned or maintained. Between the odor and the unsanitary furniture, our stay was uncomfortable and disappointing.We expected a professional, clean, and hospitable environment, but this property failed on all fronts. The lack of accountability from both the host and VRBO made the situation worse. Future guests should be aware that complaints may be ignored, even when the issues are serious and legitimate.VRBO needs to take issues like this seriously. Guests deserve to be heard.
