It is exactly as the listing states. All the basics are there, so if you need an economical place to stay, this works.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Upon arrival and attempting to check-in, the key was not in its assigned keybox and I was unable to get in contact with the owner.
When I finally got into the space, it smelled of stale cigarette smoke. I used aerosolized air fresheners to remove the smell. Initial inspection of the apartment revealed a number of small cockroach like insects. A tenant/friend of the host placed some mats that were supposed to address this concern, but I continued seeing them throughout my stay, including a large one coiled in the shower two nights before my departure.
Two nights later while showering, I overheard Tucson police attempting to detain a tenant in a nearby unit.
Two nights after that, while unloading groceries from my car, I came out to see a racial slur etched into the dust on the back window of my car. Having parked in front of the security camera, I requested the host run the footage to determine who was responsible. It ended up being teenagers belonging to another tenant in the building.
In the week leading up to check out, I began to notice small, 1mm like itchy bumps on my hand. Having had a previous experience with bedbugs, I am very familiar with suspicious presentations and began to look out for signs of an infestation. I slept in my vehicle the final evening of my stay because I was not going to be able to stay in the unit. Loaded my car up, went to work, and went back home from there.
All parties involved should be ashamed. Truly an embarrassing show of business.
