We loved this property so much! We had great communication from the owner, the check in was a piece of cake, and we had everything we needed. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
We just loved our stay here! It is a fabulous home with an incredible view. Everything is so comfortable. Eating dinner on the deck was a favorite. Our family cannot wait to come back!
An added bonus is that the owners are so wonderful and helpful. I highly recommend staying here. You will never want to go anywhere else.
The property has stunning views and room for everyone. We were really glad the weather cooperated so we could eat at the large outdoor table. The accommodations were cozy and comfortable. There are lots of things to do nearby. We rode the train RT to Girabaldi, we walked in the old growth forest, had campfires, flew kites & went to ice cream and the candy store. Jan was very helpful & communicated well. Another great trip in the books.
Brian and Janet were great communicators, the house had all we needed. Both kitchen’s are so well stocked. The deck was so much fun to sit out on with a perfect view of Twin Rocks! The yard is Beautiful and lots of parking! Appreciate getting to rent the house.
Perfect place for entire family to stay and enjoy their vacation. Property work out and had everything we needed. Great to be able to walk through the dune to the beach.
This was the perfect location for our small group of friends to spend the weekend. Kitchens were well stocked and common areas were very comfortable for hanging out. Beautiful view and a short path to the beach. We had a wonderful time.

Great quiet place to enjoy the Oregon Coast
My family met here for a reunion. It was great having a beach front place. We played on the beach and watched the sunset. It was ideal. The owners were very receptive to our needs and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was great.

The Perfect Spot
Clean and inviting home. A beautiful spot with views of the ocean and the twin rocks. Plenty of room for our entire family. Just a short stroll to be on the beach. Hope to make this an annual event.
Great place to gather. Comfortable and quiet. A wonderful beach for walks and wading. The Twin Rocks are amazing. Rockaway Beach is a fun coastal town. All ages enjoyed strolling the shops and buying souvenirs.
The house is a lovely older beach cottage with a homey personality. The refrigerators need to be upgraded. We would return, maybe for our next sibling's 80th birthday.

Very nice, large home ON the beach
This home has a very large deck overlooking the beach. The inside of the home is very clean. With two living room areas and kitchens; the home was recently remodeled and very nicely done. Not an open concept floor plan, but this allows numerous bedrooms and living areas. The family is looking forward to renting this wonderful home next year.
The location, just off the beach, was spectacular! Very easy to get to the water, even for the seniors in our group. Plenty of room for all of us, including more family that stayed in a motel nearby. The property is a duplex and it was very handy to have 2 kitchens for the big meal. Plenty of games and easy access to TV. Property owner was very nice and responded very promptly to all communications. Very clean & quiet.

Perfect Daybreak
What a perfect setting for any function. But for my mom's 90th birthday we could not have asked for anything more perfect. Since the house is a duplex, it is divided with 4 bedrooms on one side and 2 bedrooms on the other. It was possible to have a quiet side for anyone needing a nap (what?) and the partiers were able to do just that on the other. The view of the ocean and beach is second to none. I will definitely keep this property on my list of go-to's and will call to use it again.

Amazing house!
We didn't know that the house was split in two but it worked out so good The grandparents were on one half while children and the rest on the other half. We walked into a cute little basket filled with treats for the kids and a bottle of wine for us adults. The house was well stocked with kids toys and little cots for them to sleep on. Very cute and clean and the walk to the beach is easy for the older people to get through. We plan on making this house our new family tradition!
We stayed here for our small wedding in August, with family only, and it was so convenient. The house is separated, so we were able to keep the elderly from all the children. Nice view, and Jan is the best host ever. We were offered early check-in and late check-out before we even needed it, and they really think of everything. I brought so many spices, condiments, cleaning supplies, extra tp and kitchen towels, but you really don't need any of this. The house is really well stocked with everything you may need. They have extra kids cots, beach towels, chairs sand toys, and the patio is killer. We spent most of our Evenings sitting outside watching the sunset. Our entire family is sure, that this is the place to return for our next family reunion. Thank you again sweet Jan, for making our stay a lifetime memory. We had by far, the best stay ever, and i cannot wait to come back!
Potential to become a gem if upgraded. Right on beach.
Two separate but connected units. One can sleep 4 and the other can sleep 8, anything more would be a stretch.
Its right on the beach.
When we checked in, house was reasonably well cleaned except for Kitchen, especially fridge which still had some left over food, empty cans etc. The difficulty (at least for us) was that living space in the unit on south is hardly enough to fit in our entire group of 12.
If the house undergoes renovation/upgrades in living, kitchen and basement.. it will become a gem in that area.
We had wonderful time.
My family and I stayed at this property for three nights; the property was dirty upon arrival; floors had food on them, dirt, and sand, and we needed to vacuum the morning after arrival because everyone's feet were black from the dirt and grime. My dad, his girlfriend, and my nephew stayed in the back part of the property, and there were no sheets placed on the beds and no way for us to put new sheets on the beds; we had to wait for the housekeeper to come to do that. I reached out, and that issue was resolved within a few hours. The beds were tiny and rickety; one of the bedroom's bed frames was falling apart, and the boards under the mattress had to be adjusted every time my sister and her partner went to bed. We brought groceries and stored food in the refrigerator, and the freezer began leaking on our food in fridge. Overall, the house was not what we expected and was not worth the money we paid. The beach access was phenomenal, but we will stay in Seaside or Lincoln City next time because it was not worth it.
Since our stay, Jan has reached out to me twice. Once, she accused us of breaking her deck without proof, and now she's told me we left her filthy house so dirty it took her two days to clean it after us. We followed the cleaning requests, vacuumed, and cleaned up after ourselves. If you plan to stay with a large party, I would do so with caution. They'll try to pin property damage and cleaning issues on you and your party.

Family beach getaway
The listing was not clear that there are two separate entrances/homes (4 bedrooms in one house and 2 bedrooms in the other). We had a large group, and this division wasn't expected. The separate spaces also means a smaller kitchen and living area cannot accommodate the entire large group comfortably at once. The location is great with great beach access; the fog prevented a view--but that's to be expected in October. The owners were responsive. The basement is OK for storage, but not somewhere you'd want to hang out. Stairs to bedrooms are steep, if you have someone with accessibility issues.

About the host
Hosted by Janet Murphy
This is a family beach home and true to that title it is a family effort to continue to own it. My two brothers and I grew up in the Mt. Tabor area of Portland and attended Franklin High School. We all still reside in the area and each of us loves the beach. We still refer to it as Twin Rocks, even though it has been incorporated into Rockaway Beach. We visit as often as possible and now our children and their children also use the house as a place to get away.
Why they chose this property
When my two brothers and I were children we used to spend our summers visiting my grandparents at their beach cabin in what was then Twin Rocks. We used to play in the woods across the street. One year when we came the trees had all been cut down. Little did I know then that the house that was to be built would one day be a place where my children would create their own beach memories. When our father purchased the house he went out on a limb financially. The first time down after the sale I stood out front with him and he said, 'This is your inheritance. There won't be anything else.' Today, this house means the world to me and to each of our families. Through the years it has become a way to connect with family and friends. It is our sincerest hope that our renters will also be able to create lasting memories for their family.
What makes this property unique
You only need to walk in the front door and look out the window once to realize why we love this house. The view is unequal. It's like a movie set. The house sitting steps away from the beach. Being able to sit on a deck and watch waves pounding the sand and crashing against the two giant rocks just off shore. It is truly an amazing place.
