Emerald Phoenix Estate is a masterpiece of design and comfort, offering an unparalleled experience on the North Coast. Once you arrive at this exceptional oasis nestled on the coastal wooded bluffs you may never want to leave!
The estate caretaker and lovely owner, Daniel resides onsite. This is a "homeshare" vacation rental. He welcomes guests to enjoy the landscaped pastures that lead you to extraordinary views of the Pacific, to wander the 18 acres and to soak up the magic of the California coastline. He is happy to take you on a guided tour of the property including a stroll to Martin’s Creek or of course to give you all the space and privacy you desire.
Delight in a tranquil 3,000 gallon Koi pond complemented by a cascading waterfall as you begin to realize everything that Emerald Phoenix Estate has to offer. A gourmet kitchen, piano, prestigious library, wood burning fireplace, sauna, hot tub, a large game room and flourishing grounds to explore. After a day hiking in the redwoods and exploring the North Coast’s pristine beaches, you’ll love soaking in the six person hot tub and rejuvenating in the Finlandia sauna. Grill up a delicious meal on the Weber barbecue, dine al fresco on the expansive Brazilian Walnut deck and immerse yourself in the sounds of the sea. In the evening, stargaze under a striking, unobstructed night sky.
With 4500 sq ft. of total living space and stunning views from every corner, Emerald Phoenix Estate is more than a rental—it's an experience that will create cherished memories on the California coast. Built in 1993, the splendor of this estate includes a 3,500 sq ft. 4 bedroom/ 2 bathroom grand main home plus an 1100 sq. ft. game room when combined sleeps nine guests. The interior is characterized by an open-concept kitchen and living area with a fireplace, cathedral ceilings, and exhilarating views of the Pacific Ocean through expansive bay windows. Located adjacent to the main home is the 1,100 sq. ft. game room. The entertaining family game room is stocked with games, puzzles, toys, books, a ping pong table, big screen tv and a pair of comfortable sofas. The game room includes additional space with a king bed and French doors. This space opens to a serene courtyard that overlooks the koi pond. The bathroom has a combination bathtub and shower. A total of 17 skylights provide ample natural lighting throughout the estate.
The estate’s dining room boasts heart-stirring panoramic ocean views. The chef’s kitchen is well stocked with double ovens, a 6 burner gas range, dishwasher and a generous array of cooking utensils for preparing savory meals. The first and second bedrooms are located on the left wing of the residence and feature French doors that lead to the backyard deck and a well appointed king and queen bed respectively. These bedrooms access a hallway bathroom with a combination bathtub/shower. The third and fourth bedrooms are located on the right wing, each offering deluxe king canopy beds. These bedrooms share a Jack & Jill style bathroom that includes a walk-in closet, a dual head ocean view shower and a four person Finlandia sauna.
This opulent custom built estate is thoughtfully styled by interior designer Katherine Fergus of Elemental Design Shop & Real Estate. Katherine curated all of the unique furnishings, tasteful artwork and outfitted all of the bedrooms with the highest quality bedding including linen duvets. The owner's personal collection of antiques & relics add a quintessential flair to the decor. The estate also showcases local art & photography available for purchase.
Outdoor activities include badminton, croquet, forest bathing, barbecue, dining, and ocean gazing. Emerald Phoenix is a natural habitat for a diverse array of plants and animals native to California. You are likely to encounter foxes, deer, ravens, and dragonflies on the estate. Explore and discover a wide array of evergreen trees including Redwood, Douglas Fir and Cypress, flocks of shore birds, our favorite banana slugs, as well as an incredible variety of ferns and the magical Trillium flower that thrive here in the largest temperate rainforest in the world.
Please note this home does not have any direct beach access. It is located on a steep bluff. The trailhead to Secret Beach is a five minute walk down Stagecoach Rd. The next nearest beach is College Cove approximately 1 mile away and Trinidad State Beach 3 miles South. The seaside town of Trinidad is 2 miles South where guests can find Murphy's Market, Beachcomber Cafe, Headie's Pizza, Lighthouse Grill, The Trinidad Eatery, Seascape Restaurant and Pier, Katy's Smokehouse, Moonstone Winery Tasting Room, Trinidad Museum, Trinidad Art Gallery, Trinidad Trading Post & Sea Around Us. Locals favorite 5 star dining at Larrupin restaurant is within two miles from the estate. A five minute drive on nearby Highway 101 will take you to Sue Meg State Park and Moonstone Beach. The Arcata-Eureka airport is 15 minutes away.
