The rental was very clean and the accommodations comfortable. I was mislead about exactly where the rental was - I asked for the cross streets of the property and I was given inaccurate information - the location was a mile farther away from the Brooklyn Museum and Gardens that we had planned to walk to. Our range did not ever work, the hot water stopped working as did the WiFi. Eli promptly sent someone out, however, a burst pipe under the house made it necessary for us to move to a different location which he provided. I asked to be called to discuss how to move to the new location, but he messaged me to say to talk to the maintenance man who was at our rental. The new location was perfectly acceptable but it was not fun packing up and moving in the middle of our vacation.

I take no pleasure in writing a negative review, but I also believe future guests deserve an accurate picture of what to expect.Unfortunately, our experience was very different from how the listing was presented. The condition of the apartment and building raised immediate concerns. There was a strong, unpleasant odor—a mix of cigarette smoke and fish—that lingered throughout our stay. Several items in the apartment were broken or in poor condition, and overall the space felt neglected rather than well maintained. For instance, the Wifi didn't work, the air conditioning was loud and spewed hot air. (During a heat wave no less.) The building itself also made us feel uncomfortable. It was extremely noisy, and the surrounding area did not feel safe to us, particularly after dark. While every neighborhood has its own character, the overall environment was not what we expected based on the listing and significantly affected our ability to enjoy our trip.Travel accommodations are expensive, and guests should be able to rely on listings to accurately reflect the condition of a property and its surroundings. When there is a significant gap between what is advertised and what guests experience, there should be meaningful accountability and appropriate remedies.I hope this review helps future travelers make an informed decision.

The place was beautiful. The interior are as depicted in the photos. This was 5-6 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Home was clean and beds were comfortable. Host was responsive leading up to, and during our stay.
