The bustling area is characterized by both office towers and residential buildings, so there's a wide variety of restaurants serving cuisine from all over the world, night and day. Downtown Brooklyn is also the site of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, a cutting edge arts complex, and it's an easy walk to the foot of the famous Brooklyn Bridge. The neighborhood is served by several subway lines and bus routes, making it easy to get to Manhattan and the city's other boroughs.
