Architect and dreamer Earl Young created a magical world with his unique and eccentric stone cottages in Charlevoix. Half House is absolutely one of the most adorable homes you will ever see! Now you can experience it for yourself. Enjoy the sandy beach, lighthouse and breathtaking sunsets just outside your door. Half House is an easy two block stroll to the quaint village of Charlevoix for shopping, dining, marina, ferry, drawbridge and music in the park.
Everything you will need for a comfortable vacation is included: luxurious cotton bed linens and towels, firewood and kindling, free wireless internet, books, music, Roku smart flatscreen TV with streaming channels and DVD player, kitchenware, beach chairs, plus an endless supply of hot water! Not to mention the spectacular view of majestic Lake Michigan! This cozy two bedroom home accommodates four guests quite comfortably. Relax!

The house is so unique and full of history. The view is phenomenal! We had four women there and the sleeping arrangements worked out just fine despite the small size of the house. It was just plain fun to stay there! I highly recommend!
This unique property was perfect for a weekend away. We could walk into town for dinner, and to the beach. Enjoyed the fireplace for the chilly almost-spring weather we had, and it was very cozy for reading and relaxing. We didn't use the upstairs bedroom, but that would be fun for some young kids.
Was a lovely spot view icy lake view to settle in for a couple days of work and vacation. Clean and nicely appointed. Kids commented on how comfortable the twin beds upstairs were. Just watch your head!
Very clean and comfortable, beautiful view of Lake Michigan, warm fireplace with plenty of wood and kindling. It was the perfect cozy spot to stay in the winter. I would love to go back in the summer.
What a lovely few days in Charlevoix! Our stay in the Mushroom Half House was a privilege. The fireplace and location next to Lake Michigan blessed us deeply.
I couldn't have asked for a more cozy, comfortable place to stay. Also our host had everything setup for entertainment along with a view that is amazing. I would re-book in a heartbeat.
Really enjoyed our stay in the half house! Check in process was very easy. Location is great, nice views of the lake and within walking distance to the beach or downtown.

Cameron, thanks for taking the time to leave this great review! I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit.
The view from the front window is amazing. Our host Bill was very helpful, available and accommodating especially when we needed to book an extra night due to weather and road conditions. It was a lovely and unique place to stay and would definitely consider doing it again at a warmer time of year.
It was a really cool experience to stay in one of Earl Young's houses in Charlevoix! Half house is super cute and quirky! Loved it! Enjoying a fire was the best!
It was a cozy, clean and close to everything; shops and restaurants. If it was better weather we would of walked more. I'd love to rent it during the summer.
Such a FUN experience! Perfect size for our family while in town for a wedding. Beautiful view of Lake Michigan and excellent location, close to downtown.
Location, Location, Location, Perfect. Accommodations were perfect, Thanks Bill. We had a wonderful time.

Book with someone you can trust! I was raised in Michigan and fell in love with the charm & natural beauty of 'Up North' many years ago. Our family spent summers in Charlevoix, but now my four children are grown and scattered across the country from Florida to Washington. It's your turn to experience the wonder of Half House!
Why they chose this property
I have been a homeowner in Charlevoix for over twenty five years. I purchased Half House in 2001 and quite frankly, I couldn't believe it was for sale! It is perfectly located directly across from the beach and just two blocks to downtown.
What makes this property unique
I love the quirky eccentricity of this fairytale home. It has so much history and character; thoroughly enchanting! I am pleased to now be able to share it with you. Charlevoix STR License # 20-00012-01.
