About the host
Hosted by Josh Corey
Hi, we’re Josh and Laurie—thanks so much for considering Lion’s Lookout for your stay!
Josh is a Penn State University main campus alumn, and together we’ve been Penn State football season ticket holders for over 20 years. Happy Valley has been a huge part of our lives, from game days and campus events to family traditions that keep bringing us back year after year.
When we discovered Bellefonte, we honestly didn’t expect to fall in love with it the way we did. We quickly realized it offered something special—a family-friendly, charming town with great restaurants, coffee shops, and local businesses, all just minutes from campus. It felt like the perfect balance: close enough to enjoy Penn State events, but far enough away to avoid the chaos of downtown State College.
We reimagined Lion’s Lookout as a place where families, alumni, and groups could truly enjoy their time together. The home was designed with multiple gathering spaces, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and plenty of entertainment—so everyone, from kids to grandparents, can feel at home. Whether it’s watching a big game, letting the kids play, working remotely, or relaxing in the hot tub after a full day, the goal was always comfort, flexibility, and fun.
We believe the best trips happen when a home brings people together without stress. Our hope is that Lion’s Lookout becomes part of your Penn State memories—just as Happy Valley has been part of ours for so many years.
Make yourself at home—we’re excited to host you!

Why they chose this property
Lion’s Lookout isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a better way to experience Happy Valley.
This home was intentionally chosen and designed for guests who want to be close to Penn State events and campus life, but who also value space, comfort, and quieter evenings once the day winds down. Located in a peaceful Bellefonte neighborhood, Lion’s Lookout offers a level of calm and privacy that’s hard to find closer to campus—without sacrificing convenience.
Unlike many large group rentals, Lion’s Lookout is thoughtfully laid out with multiple gathering spaces, including two living rooms, a private garage game room, flexible dining options, and entertainment throughout the home. It works especially well for multi-family trips, alumni weekends, and group getaways where everyone wants to be together—but not on top of each other.
Guests also love being just minutes from downtown Bellefonte, a charming historic town filled with great restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, boutiques, and scenic streets. Many visitors find they prefer Bellefonte’s relaxed pace over the busier college-town atmosphere downtown.
Add in the hot tub, game room, easy parking, and quick access to Penn State venues, and Lion’s Lookout becomes more than a rental—it’s a comfortable, stress-free home base for making the most of your time in Happy Valley.
If you’re looking for a place that balances location, space, entertainment, and peace of mind, Lion’s Lookout delivers.
