I’m originally from Costa Rica and currently live in Denmark, but Costa Rica will always be home in my heart. Finca Chavela is our home whenever we return to Costa Rica, so it is much more than just a holiday rental for us.

The name has a special meaning: it honours my mother, Isabel, who loved the countryside. Chavela is a traditional Costa Rican nickname for Isabel, and naming the property after her felt like a beautiful way to keep her spirit and love of nature alive.

We love gardening, being surrounded by nature, and finding places where we can slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. With Finca Chavela, we want to share that feeling with our guests: a peaceful place to relax by the pool, enjoy the tropical garden, explore the surrounding forest, and feel at home in a special corner of Costa Rica.

What we love most about this area is the feeling of being immersed in nature while still being close to the main road, making it convenient to get around. Finca Chavela offers a rare combination of peaceful surroundings, lush tropical vegetation, and easy access. Our favourite thing is simply being here: enjoying the greenery, listening to the birds, and taking a break from the noise and rush of everyday life. It’s a wonderful place to slow down and experience the natural beauty of Costa Rica.

You can enjoy the swimming pool, relax in the tropical garden, and feel surrounded by nature, all while staying close to the main road.
