The location is perfect. The house has a direct view of the lake and can be seen from the home's many windows, and especially well from the chairs on the porch. The beach is a short walk to the bluff and an easy ride down the tram - truly the easiest access to any Lake Michigan beach we've had in our 15 years of vacations here. The beach itself is limited to community residents and renters, so semi-private. There were other families there but we all had room. Definitely bring swim shoes. While the main shore is sandy, a few steps into the water and it's all sharp rocks. Once you get past the rocky strip, there's sand again but swim shoes would have made the process easier! The homes are fairly close together but luckily we had good neighbors that followed the 10pm quiet time rule. The house itself is charming. The open floor plan on the main level made gathering together easy - for eating, talking, lounging, watching movies and napping. We had a party of 5 (myself and 4 adult kids), which worked just fine but it was cozy. The beds are comfortable but small (doubles maybe?). The kitchen was beautifully stocked. Overall our stay was wonderful and I'd recommend this house and location without reservation. All of the South Haven shops, restaurants and activities are under a 15 minute drive south. Saugatuck was a slightly longer drive to the north but still super easy to access. Great property. Great location.
