About the host
Hosted by Jen
As an artist, I’m drawn to spaces that make people feel comfortable, inspired, and at ease. Professionally Hosting guests allows me to share that feeling with others. The Owners here at “The Bernard at Hollywood Park”, created a home that’s warm, thoughtfully curated, and welcoming. I genuinely enjoy helping guests feel settled and cared for, whether they’re visiting for rest, work, or adventure, and I take pride in making each stay feel personal and memorable.
Why they chose this property
Hollywood Park is a quiet, leafy residential neighborhood on the North Side of the city (within the North Park community area) that’s worth a visit if you love relaxed urban vibes with a nature twist:
Our neighborhood feels like a calm city-meets-suburb pocket — ideal for visitors who like mellow days strolling tree-lined streets, grabbing a coffee, and enjoying outdoor spaces. It’s mostly residential with a friendly, family-oriented feel and plenty of green around.
Bordered by the North Branch of the Chicago River and close to North Park Village Nature Center, there are great spots for walking, biking, picnicking, and even spotting local wildlife.
Hollywood Park itself (~7 acres) has playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, softball fields, and spaces for all ages — perfect for families or a relaxed afternoon outdoors.
You’ll find sidewalks, well-lit streets, and a neighborhood that’s peaceful and safe — locals often describe it as walkable and friendly, with dogs and kids out and about.
Neighborhood joints like Bryn Mawr Breakfast Club are a hit for brunch or comfort food, and the area around Bryn Mawr and Peterson has various international restaurants (Lebanese, Vietnamese, Indian/Pakistani) within easy reach for diverse dining.
