🐾Pet fee is $20/night/pet for approved pets, charged after the booking is confirmed. For long term bookings the pet fee is $399 per stay for the first pet and $100 for each pet thereafter. No unauthorized pets or unfriendly pets around dogs or people. Please message host for pet information. Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after.
🏠 Duplex: Host lives in separate downstairs unit with separate entrance. Shared spaces include backyard, driveway, shared arctic entryway/corridor, and laundry room. You may occasionally hear normal living sounds from the downstairs unit.
🪜 Stairs: 12 stairs required to access unit. Building built in 1948; unit fully renovated. If you’re a taller individual, there are a few spots you will need to watch your head on the stairs (signs posted).
🔋 Smart lock in extreme cold: Battery smart locks may not work at times in extreme cold. A backup key is available outside if needed.
🧺 Laundry: Free washer/dryer in shared utility room. Hot pipes/boiler are also located in this utility room—no unattended children.
🧥 Arctic entryway: Shared corridor used as arctic entryway. Guests may store boots/coats here. Please keep noise minimal (shared wall with downstairs unit).
❄️ Winter readiness: City plows roads from the airport. Driveway is shoveled, but ice hazards may still exist. Car plug-ins + extension cords available upon request.
🪟 Window frost: In winter, windows may frost heavily—this is normal. On longer stays, if frost melts, please wipe water near windows to prevent damage or let us know.
🐶 On-site dog: Daniel the Spaniel (20 lb cocker spaniel). Shy with people, friendly with dogs; may be seen in shared backyard.
🦌 Wildlife disclaimer: Moose may be encountered in Fairbanks. Please do not disturb—moose may become aggressive.
✅ Important size note: While we allow up to 5 guests, this is a small, cozy unit. Groups of 1-2 will be the most comfortable, and 3-4 guests are best for budget-minded travelers who don’t mind tighter space and sleeping on a floor mattress.
