Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
First, the positives: The house was cute and well appointed as far as the kitchen, blankets in the living room, coffee beans, etc. Lots of deck furniture and a nice hot tub (I loved the device that keeps the lid from flopping down), and the trees all around made you feel like you're in a treehouse. Michelle was a great communicator. The location was close to everything we wanted to do. The negatives:Driving to the house was very disconcerting. The one-lane bumpy road was bad enough but it felt like we were in the slums: seven cars parked alongside the road that hadn't been driven in years, piles with tarps, and junky houses. It's also noisy. Barking dogs woke us sporadically throughout the night, cars, loud conversations. Friday night two drunken parties woke us up; one started at 325 am! Earplugs didn't help much. We'll take the blame in that we didn't notice that the house has no A/C. It was 95 degrees when we arrived, and it was so hot inside. The bedrooms are upstairs, and the windows had been left open (probably to help the heat but it made it worse) and it was much hotter upstairs. There were tower fans but nothing else, and we had a few nights of uncomfortable sleep until it cooled down. Also, the spiral staircase to get upstairs is very narrow; we couldn't bring our large suitcases up and had to bring our stuff up piecemeal. Overall the house itself was very nice and if the negatives here don't bother you, it could be a good place to stay for a few days.
