About this property

Lake Superior - Gorgeous views from waterfront home in Marquette

Open floor plan home just feet from Lake Superior. Upper-level patio with stairs to the water. The two bedrooms are down the hall and across from each other. Both rooms have large closets. The queen room has view of the lake with sliding glass door to upper patio. The patio is huge and has a table and chairs. The other bedroom has a twin daybed and a double bed. The living room and dining room are one large area. There are 2 couches and a love seat. Sleeps 5 only. Kitchen has electric stove, fridge, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, dishes etc and brand new dishwasher. Grill available on the deck in the summer. There is a TV/DVD and movies. No cable TV. There is a Roku to stream your own shows. There is no A/C. Laundry room in the basement which shares the other bathroom. There is no bathtub in the home - unless you count Lake Superior! Two showers total. The basement is used for our storage and is not part of the rental. We do not have kayaks. I can recommend a local rental.

No pets allowed on the property. This includes people that visit you. No RV hook ups - yes we have had this happen. No parties. NO SMOKING anywhere on the premises.

Speaking of things to do, there is an awesome running/skiing/mountain biking trail system in Marquette known as the Noquemenon. There is also a ski marathon associated with the Noquemenon that is in January. Also near by is the North Country Trail which goes across the entire country. Also, there are so many snowmobile trails here that you can't do it all in one trip. The trails are all groomed. There is also a downhill ski area that is very fun. In addition to the wooded trails there is a paved bike path that runs for miles along the lake shore. The bike path is 1/4 mile from our rental. We really have a great location, that is the best part of this rental. We are about 2 miles from Northern Michigan University.

There isn't a better view in Marquette, or a warmer or more hospitable host. As a Yooper who moved away, this took me back to simpler times (though the place has great ameninities).We spent our evenings watching the light flash from Granite Island Lighthouse. We were sad to leave what truly felt like home to us, but we'll be back.Thanks to the host for making this exclusive location available.

This home met all our expectations. Our hosts were lovely and attentive to anything we might need. The home was well stocked with supplies and even had some spices for cooking. The location of the Lake could not be beaten. We will return in the future for sure!

ALWAYS AWESOME!

This is our 4th or 5th time staying at Nina's lovely home. Perfect location, great for families or singles. Beautiful beach to walk on without crossing any roads. Low traffic dead-end street. Walk to Presque Isle Park. House is located 2 miles from downtown& Northern. Balcony w/grill provides amazing lake view for dinners. Very clean. It is always our 1st choice when visiting our kids in Marquette!

Great Location

Home is very clean. Location is great! Ceiling and floor in living room need repair. No WiFi was an issue for streaming movies on our devices. Notes said to start a load of laundry and that there was extra toilet paper but we couldn’t find either anywhere. Overall it was a nice place though

Pandemic Vaca

We were headed to Marquette for my son's NMU graduation which was sadly canceled due to quarantine in these crazy times. Obviously, we could not go. We have stayed at Nina's property many times and love everything about it. She quickly issued a full refund the day I contacted her (which took HomeAway 3 weeks to process after she initiated). We cannot wait to go back during a safer time.

Beautiful home right on Lake Superior

This home greeted you with a wall of windows looking out over Lake Superior just below the spacious deck. The beach was only a few short steps off the deck where you could walk in either direction in the soft sand. Neighborhood residents were friendly as we walked along the beach. Beautifully decorated and spacious. Only two bedrooms but three beds. Only downside was the entrance to the home with many steps. Would be difficult for persons who had trouble managing stairs. Also not wheelchair accessible.

Cozy, Calm & Comforting

This was our second time staying at this lovely home. We slept every night with the slider door open to the sounds of Lake Superior, and let me tell you, we’ve never slept better! Presque Isle is within walking distance and the views from any point are magical. There is an artist’s collective at the end of the road where you can shop and meet the artists themselves. The Ore Dock also sits at the end of the road. You can watch the big freighters come in for loading and hear the sound of the ore train throughout the day. Being from West Virginia, this place reminds me of my childhood and leaves my feeling energized in ways that words just can’t explain. If you’re looking to relax and unwind, then this is the place for you. Check in so you can check out! ❤️

Beautiful Home!

This is a fantastic property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I REALLY WANT TO GIVE IT A 5 STAR RATING, except for one thing: wifi access. There is no specific wifi for this house, instead it shares with the owner who lives next door. So, the kitchen/dining/living rooms, which are the furthest from her home get basically no signal. For people like us who like to use our tablets, this was really inconvenient. The house is very clean and beautifully appointed with comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well-stocked and we cooked a lot. Nina was very easy to work with and very responsive. Other than the wifi, this was a perfect getaway on Lake Superior! We will stay here again and highly recommend this property.

This was a lovely little getaway on the beach. It needs a bit of updating, cleaning, and privacy and it'll be 5 stars.Nina was very helpful during checkin and during our stay and answering most questions and concerns. Definitely on top of it.We got bit by spiders a couple of times during our stay, the house has a musty smell, and we were asked to turn off lights in the middle of our stay via text, which was off-putting a little bit.But overall, I definitely recommend this place for a quick beach getaway for adults.

Best Rental We’ve Ever Had

Property is true to the description. Plenty of space for two families with small kids, back yard beach access, walking distance to Presque Isle Park—we feel lucky to have snagged this spot!

I am from the Marquette area. Having gone to high school here and never moving away, I obviously love it here. We have 2 children so we know all the fun stuff to do with your kids if you bring them. I work as a nurse at a veterans home and my husband works for the local hospital. He is originally from the Detroit area but has been here for 20+ years. We live next door to the rental so we are usually around if you need anything.

Why they chose this property

This property is prime location in Marquette. My mother in law lived here until her passing years ago. It is a special place to us.

What makes this property unique

The location on the lake is why we fell in love with the home. The views are spectacular and so are walks on the beach. But yet we are in the city limits of Marquette.
