About the host
Hosted by Dexter & Doran
We’re South Carolina natives who grew up on the Black River and now live in Charleston. This river has been part of our lives for as long as we can remember, and it continues to be a place we return to for quiet, perspective, and connection.
We co-own a travel company, which has taken us all over the world. Travel has shaped how we see people, places, and what it means to truly feel welcome somewhere.
Hosting here is personal for us. This is not just a property, it is a place that holds a lot of history and meaning. We care deeply about how it is experienced and shared.
Our goal is simple. We want guests to feel comfortable, at ease, and connected to where they are. Whether that means slow mornings on the porch, time on the river, or exploring the surrounding Lowcountry, we hope your time here feels memorable in a way that stays with you.
Why they chose this property
This is not a traditional neighborhood. It is a quiet, rural stretch of the Black River made up of homes that have been here for generations.
We chose it because it is home. Our families have deep roots here, and this part of the river has a way of slowing everything down in the best possible way. It is peaceful, a little off the beaten path, and deeply connected to nature.
What we love most is the sense of space and stillness. You will hear birds, see wildlife, and experience the rhythm of the river throughout the day. At the same time, you are still within a short drive of Georgetown, local restaurants, and the coast.
It offers a balance that is hard to find. Secluded enough to truly unplug, but close enough to explore when you want to.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property special is its setting and the way it feels to be here.
The home sits directly on a quiet bend of the Black River, with expansive views, a private dock, and easy access to the water. The property includes ponds, open space, and natural surroundings that create a sense of privacy and calm that is hard to replicate.
It is not a resort or a high-traffic vacation area. It is a place where you can slow down, spend time outside, and experience the Lowcountry in a more natural and unfiltered way.
Inside, the home is designed to be comfortable, clean, and easy to live in. Outside, the river and landscape do most of the work.
For guests who appreciate nature, space, and a quieter pace, it offers something genuinely different from a typical stay.
