One of my greatest passions is snorkeling. Whenever I travel across the Caribbean, the first thing I look for is where to get in the water. But honestly? Some of the most magical underwater moments I've ever had have been right here at home. My absolute favorite spot is **Caracoles Cay in La Parguera** — a hidden gem that I never get tired of visiting. The water there is so crystal clear it almost doesn't look real. Whether I'm snorkeling or just floating and letting the world slow down, it never disappoints.
The best part? Getting there is easier than you might think. You can rent a small boat with nothing more than a driver's license, and you will be given the instructions you need — where to go, how to get there, and which other cays are worth exploring while you're out on the water. There's a whole little archipelago waiting for you, and each one has its own personality and they are just close to each other some you can even swim between them.

Tucked perfectly between **Mayagüez downtown and the Mayagüez Mall**, the location is as convenient as it gets on the west coast. Everything you could possibly need is just minutes away — great restaurants, shopping, gas stations, supermarkets, our favorite bakery, local **chinchorros** for a cold drink and good vibes, and pharmacies for anything you might have forgotten to pack. You really don't have to go far for anything, which means more time to actually enjoy your vacation.
What I love most, though, is the feel of the neighborhood itself. The majority of the residents here are retired locals — which means it's quiet, friendly, and genuinely safe. There's a calm, unhurried energy that instantly puts you at ease.
And then there's the neighborhood's greatest gift — the **Litoral de Mayagüez**, less than 2 miles away. Every evening, without fail, the sky over the water puts on a show. Deep oranges, soft purples, and golds that reflect off the Caribbean like something out of a painting. I make it a point to catch that sunset as often as I can, and I hope you will too.
