About the host
Hosted by Lisa
After 37 fantastic years teaching, I am finally retired. Our grandchildren and children love coming up to Tahoe but we aren't always here. We wanted to share our unique, remodeled cabin with others. I decided early on to have a bear theme. You will find bears on literally everything in the cabin. The grandsons like to try to count them. No one knows for sure but it's in the hundreds. I enjoy rafting in Tahoe. My husband skies as much as possible here. We both love hanging on the lake beaches. Hana, my sheltie and I walk all over the lake area. We hope you will find our cabin to be restful and relaxing as well. Stay in and cook and enjoy the area.
Why they chose this property
Although born in Hawaii, I spent most of my childhood in Texas. North Lake Tahoe is more country style for my wants. I love Carnelian Bay being so close to everything yet close enough to walk as well. It's an older neighborhood where most people are friendly and love sharing this beautiful area. I love our peek a boo views of the lakes and the forest and mountain views.
What makes this property unique
Obviously the bear theme is unique! I have pictures of bears that I've actually taken myself in the cabin as well as local artists. We have remodeled almost everything here. When we first arrived, it was red shag carpet, red and white walls and a total 1970's theme. Things have come a long way from there. We made it as family and couple friendly as possible. I've even had a few singles with their dog stay. Whether it's a working vacation, or a casual vacation, you can find it in my cabin. A close friend of mine and her family developed this neighborhood. She was able to help name the streets. They are named after African tribes, areas and more.
