Owner’s professionalism
The “hot” tub wasn’t working when we got there. The owner didn’t tell us that it was damaged by the recent hurricane until after we got there, even though I specifically asked about hurricane damage before renting it and he told me that there was no damage. Then after being there two days he turned it on remotely but it wasn’t hot. Turns out it was a whirlpool (jets worked) but it circulated water from the pool which wasn’t hot. We rented it mainly for the use of the hot tub, but unfortunately weren’t able to use it because the water wasn’t warm enough. After another day I told him to shut off the remote timer because we would not be using it the way it was. He never did.
We also never saw the property manager even though his ad said that she would stop in after we got there.
After our stay when I reported back to him our disappointment about the hot tub & asked for a partial refund he called me petty and said that I was blackmailing him.
Then suddenly he claimed there was a dent in his personal vehicle that was in the garage.
I would not recommend renting this property. Although it was pretty nice, the owner was not.
You are also responsible to wash your own bed linens & towels and redress the beds before leaving (I expected this would be done by the cleaning crew after we left).
