Mountain Chalet with Hot Tub, Game Room, Hiking Trail, & Lake Access
Our cabin "Further Up and Further In" invites you to step out of the ordinary and into a mountain retreat built for families, friends, and anyone who wants space to breathe, play, and reconnect. Perched above the valley with long, layered views of the Nantahala ridgeline, this warm, timbered chalet blends roomy, light filled living spaces with playful, practical touches that make multifamily stays effortless.
We love mornings with coffee on the wraparound deck as mist lifts from the trees, afternoons spent on the lake or exploring forest trails, and evenings gathered around the fire pit or soaking in the hot tub beneath a sky full of stars.
The house sleeps up to ten across three thoughtfully arranged bedrooms and three baths, with a lower-level living area that feels like a second home for teens or grandparents who want a little separation without losing the family vibe.
Inside the Home Walk through the front door into a vaulted great room where a two-story wall of windows frames the mountains and floods the space with natural light. The main level centers on a comfortable living area with plush seating, a stone fireplace, and an open plan that flows into a fully equipped kitchen and dining area large enough for everyone to eat together.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook family meals: full size appliances, generous counter space, and a well stocked set of cookware and utensils. A pair of doors open to the upper deck where the hot tub waits for sunset soaks. Meanwhile, the grill stands ready for weekend barbecues.
Downstairs: The lower level is a second living zone with its own kitchenette, a cozy sitting area, and the game room—a magnet for kids and teens. The arcade cabinet loaded with classic games and the pool table keep rainy days and late nights lively.
Bedrooms: Bedrooms are arranged to maximize privacy and comfort: a primary suite with mountain views and an en-suite bath, plus two additional bedrooms and full baths. Linens, towels, and a washer/dryer are provided so you can travel light and stay comfortable. Small conveniences—high speed Wi Fi, smart TV, board games, and a selection of family movies—round out the indoor entertainment.
Outdoor Living The house was designed to live outdoors as much as in. Two levels of wraparound decks give you multiple vantage points for sunrise and sunset. The hot tub on the deck is perfect for starry nights and chilly mornings. Down the slope, a fire pit area with Adirondack chairs invites s’mores and storytelling and a hammock tucked among the trees are favorite spots for quiet reading or afternoon naps. There’s ample parking and easy, well-maintained access to the property. For families with kids, the yard offers open space for play while adults relax nearby.
