Modern Hood River Loft w/ Rooftop Deck Near Waterfront & Downtown
Welcome to your modern industrial Hood River retreat — a beautifully designed multi-level townhome built for both relaxation and adventure in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. Located just steps from the waterfront, Hood River Event Site, breweries, wineries, restaurants, coffee shops, and downtown shopping, this upscale urban getaway combines dramatic architecture, modern comfort, and one of the best walkable locations in Hood River.
Designed with a clean modern industrial aesthetic, the home features polished concrete finishes, soaring ceilings, expansive windows, warm designer furnishings, and abundant natural light throughout the day. Every space has been thoughtfully designed to feel elevated, comfortable, and connected to the adventurous Pacific Northwest lifestyle that makes Hood River such a sought-after destination.
The open-concept main living area creates the perfect gathering space after a day exploring the Gorge. Whether relaxing on the sofa with a movie, sharing dinner with friends, or planning the next day’s mountain or river adventure, the home feels spacious, connected, and welcoming. Warm textures and modern finishes soften the industrial architecture and create an atmosphere that feels upscale without losing its cozy character.
The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed for cooking at home, preparing coffee before heading to Mt. Hood, or enjoying relaxed evenings after a day on the river. Adjacent dining and lounge areas make it easy for groups to spread out comfortably while still staying connected.
Beyond the primary living spaces, the home includes several bonus areas guests consistently enjoy. A cozy reading nook provides the perfect quiet corner for morning coffee, a good book, or simply relaxing after a day outdoors. There is also a separate flex TV lounge featuring comfortable seating, a sofa, beanbag chair, and an additional television area ideal for movie nights, kids, gaming, remote work, or simply creating extra separation for larger groups traveling together.
The spacious primary suite serves as a relaxing private retreat and features a king bed along with a large modern bathroom complete with a walk-in shower and soaking bathtub — the perfect place to unwind after skiing, hiking, biking, or a day on the river. The guest bedroom includes a queen bed, modern furnishings, and beautiful natural light that continues throughout the home.
One of the most memorable features of the property is the private rooftop deck overlooking the Columbia River, Hood River Event Site, and surrounding Gorge scenery. Guests can relax with morning coffee while watching the river wake up, grill dinner on the electric BBQ, enjoy local wine or craft beer in the evening, and take in views of Mount Adams while watching kiteboarders and wing foilers on the river below. The rooftop also includes a small seasonal herb and strawberry garden that guests are welcome to enjoy during the growing season, creating a unique rooftop experience rarely found in downtown Hood River.
The lower-level recreation and gear lounge reflects the Hood River outdoor lifestyle and serves as an additional hangout space separate from the main upstairs living areas. Guests will enjoy lounge seating, sofas, a TV, ping-pong table, and additional room to relax after a day exploring the Gorge. The space also works well for organizing bikes, skis, snowboards, paddleboards, sailboards, kites, luggage, and outdoor gear commonly used throughout the region.
Because the home is located in the heart of downtown Hood River where parking can occasionally be limited, guests are provided with two paid parking passes for nearby designated parking areas during their stay. This allows visitors to fully enjoy the walkable location close to breweries, restaurants, wineries, waterfront parks, coffee shops, and the Hood River Event Site without constantly needing to move a vehicle.
The location truly sets this property apart. The Hood River Event Site and waterfront area are located just nearby and serve as one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier destinations for windsurfing, kiteboarding, wing foiling, paddleboarding, beach access, and riverfront recreation. Waterfront walking trails, parks, beaches, breweries, restaurants, and scenic viewpoints are all within easy walking distance from the home.
Hood River itself is widely recognized as one of Oregon’s top year-round outdoor recreation destinations. The Columbia River Gorge offers endless opportunities for hiking, waterfall exploration, mountain biking, road cycling, kayaking, fishing, rafting, skiing, snowboarding, winery tours, brewery hopping, and scenic drives. Mt. Hood is an easy day trip and offers year-round skiing, snowboarding, hiking, alpine lakes, and mountain recreation.
Guests are also minutes away from the famous Hood River Fruit Loop, a scenic route through the Hood River Valley featuring orchards, wineries, cideries, breweries, lavender farms, flower fields, farm stands, and incredible mountain views.

About the host
Hosted by Taylor Jordan
We fell in love with Hood River the very first time we visited. There’s something special about this place — the combination of the Columbia River, mountain views, endless outdoor adventure, incredible food and breweries, and the relaxed energy of the Gorge creates an atmosphere that’s hard to describe until you experience it yourself.
When we found this modern industrial loft in the heart of downtown, we knew it was the perfect place to create the kind of getaway we always wished we could find while traveling. We wanted a space that felt unique, comfortable, and connected to everything that makes Hood River special — a place where guests could walk to dinner, watch kiteboarders from the rooftop, spend the day skiing or biking, and come home to relax in a space that feels warm, modern, and inviting.
One of our favorite places in the home is the rooftop deck overlooking the Columbia River and Hood River Event Site. We never get tired of sitting outside with coffee in the morning or watching the sunset over the river while the last kiteboarders come off the water. During the summer, the rooftop herb and strawberry garden becomes one of our favorite little touches and makes the space feel even more connected to the outdoors.
We also designed the lower-level recreation lounge around the Hood River lifestyle. After long days on the mountain or river, it’s the perfect place to relax, play ping-pong, tune gear, watch a movie, or simply hang out together after an adventure-filled day.
Whether you’re visiting for skiing, hiking, mountain biking, wind sports, wine tasting, remote work, or simply a relaxing getaway, we hope you’ll love Hood River and this home as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
We chose downtown Hood River because it perfectly captures everything we love about the Columbia River Gorge lifestyle. Located just steps from the waterfront and Hood River Event Site, this neighborhood offers an incredible balance of outdoor adventure, walkability, great food, and small-town charm that’s difficult to find anywhere else.
One of our favorite things about this location is how easy it is to experience Hood River without constantly needing a car. Guests can walk to local breweries, wineries, coffee shops, restaurants, waterfront parks, boutique shopping, and the Columbia River within minutes. We love being able to grab coffee in the morning, walk along the waterfront trail, watch kiteboarders and wing foilers on the river, and enjoy dinner downtown all in the same day without ever needing to drive.
The Hood River Event Site and waterfront area create an energy that makes this neighborhood truly unique. Watching the river activity from the rooftop deck while enjoying views of Mount Adams never gets old. There’s always something happening — windsurfing, biking, festivals, sunsets over the Gorge, or simply people enjoying the outdoors.
We also love how centrally located Hood River is for exploring the entire Columbia River Gorge. Within a short drive, guests can access hiking trails, waterfalls, mountain biking, wineries, orchards, the Hood River Fruit Loop, and year-round recreation on Mt. Hood. Whether visiting for skiing, hiking, wine tasting, remote work, or a relaxing weekend getaway, the neighborhood makes it easy to experience everything the Gorge has to offer.
For us, this area combines adventure, relaxation, walkability, and scenery in a way that feels uniquely Pacific Northwest — and we’re excited to share that experience with our guests.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property truly unique is the combination of its modern industrial design, unbeatable downtown Hood River location, and the way the home was intentionally designed around the Columbia River Gorge lifestyle.
Unlike many vacation rentals, this isn’t just a place to sleep after a day of adventure — the home itself is part of the experience. From the dramatic concrete architecture and soaring ceilings to the warm modern furnishings and expansive natural light, the space feels both upscale and comfortable while still embracing the relaxed energy of Hood River.
One of the standout features is the private rooftop deck overlooking the Columbia River, Hood River Event Site, and Mount Adams. Guests can enjoy coffee at sunrise, grill dinner on the electric BBQ, relax with local wine or craft beer, and watch kiteboarders and wing foilers on the river below. The rooftop herb and strawberry garden adds another unique touch that helps connect the space to the outdoors.
The home also offers multiple gathering and relaxation spaces rarely found in downtown properties, including a cozy reading nook, separate TV lounge with sofa and beanbag seating, and a lower-level recreation lounge with ping-pong, lounge seating, TV, and gear space designed around Hood River’s outdoor culture.
The location is another major differentiator. Guests can walk to breweries, wineries, coffee shops, restaurants, waterfront parks, and downtown shopping within minutes while still having immediate access to world-class hiking, skiing, biking, windsurfing, and Columbia Gorge recreation.
The combination of rooftop living, modern industrial architecture, multiple lounge spaces, adventure-friendly amenities, and true walkability creates a one-of-a-kind Hood River experience that’s difficult to replicate anywhere else in town.
