Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. The property we originally booked was cancelled at the last minute, leaving my family and me with basically no choice but to accept the replacement accommodation they provided. I made it clear over the phone that I was only accepting it because we had nowhere else to go on such short notice.When we arrived, the replacement property was completely unacceptable. The place had a very strong cigarette smell that made my kids uncomfortable, some of the lights were not working, and there was no working internet. I was honestly horrified that this was considered an acceptable replacement for the property we had originally paid for.The worst part was the poor communication and customer service. Instead of taking responsibility and providing a comparable accommodation, we were left dealing with problems that should never have been ours to deal with. This caused unnecessary stress and seriously affected what was supposed to be an enjoyable family trip.I would strongly recommend that future guests think carefully before booking. Based on my experience, I would not stay here again or recommend this property to anyone. I will also be contacting VRBO directly regarding how this situation was handled and requesting appropriate compensation.
