Our perfect summer/fall lakefront retreat offers all the conveniences in a traditional cottage-style home on the shore of beautiful and pristine Sabbathday Lake in New Gloucester, Maine. The Cottage is situated directly across the lake from the peaceful and historic Shaker Village. Enjoy magnificent sunsets and stunning views of the lake from both inside and outside the property. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people easily with 2 separate bedrooms, each featuring a full sized/double bed. The living area offers a large L-shaped couch and an A/C unit as well as a smart TV including cable and free Wifi, VCR and DVD players. We also have an entire cabinet full of nostalgic board games. The kitchen is fully stocked with all your cooking needs including a refrigerator, gas stove, dishes & utensils, coffee maker, microwave and toaster. Full sized bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet. Towels and linens are provided in limited quantities. The real draw is when you step outside to enjoy the lake. Outside this stunning property you’ll enjoy a seating area overlooking the lake, a picnic table, 6 person dining table and a gas grill for outdoor cooking. Custom stone stairs lead you down to your own private dock where you’ll enjoy fishing, swimming, and floating around the lake. We also have 2 kayaks available for your use. In the evening, relax and take pleasure in sitting around our natural stone firepit, making s’mores while listening to the distant loon calls from the lake. The cottage is conveniently located just 35 minutes from Portland and 20 minutes from downtown Freeport, Auburn and Windham. Less than 10 minutes from the Maine Wildlife Park and Pineland Farms, and the Oxford Casino is only a 19 minute drive. We are currently booking 7-night stays throughout the summer months and into the fall. No smoking inside the cottage and no pets please. Parking is limited to 2 vehicles.
