About this property
Schöne Fewo in der Provence in Top-lage, Großer Pool, Blick auf den Mont Ventoux
The "Les Raisins" holiday rental is the middle of three apartments and was completely renovated in 2022. It features a private entrance from the courtyard and a very large, sheltered terrace equipped with a sunshade (large awning) and a beach umbrella. This apartment, measuring approximately 65 square metres, likely offers the most beautiful view of Mirabel-aux-Baronnies and the countryside towards Mont Ventoux! Your view looks directly out to the pool and pool house, which is open during the season (approximately May through late September/early October) (unheated). You can park your car right next to the apartment in the courtyard. Bicycles can be stored in the garage.
Wi-Fi is provided free of charge.
The apartment has two bedrooms (Bedroom 1: 140-cm bed; Bedroom 2: two 90-cm beds), a bathroom with a shower, and a separate toilet. The very spacious living-dining room also features a sleeper sofa, an armchair, and a coffee table. The table seats six people. The kitchen is fully equipped, including: oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, large refrigerator with freezer compartment, electric kettle, coffee maker, blender, and toaster. You’ll find a washing machine in the bathroom. A grill is available for your use on the terrace. Upon request, the apartment can be rented for five people.
Provence is full of sights to see. It’s best to buy a guidebook to get informed. So here are just a few tips:
Roman era: Vaison-La-Romaine is just a 10-minute drive away. In addition to the extremely impressive excavations in the Quartier de la Villasse and the Quartier Puymin, be sure to check out the Roman bridge, which dates back to the 1st century and has withstood all floods. It’s still in use today—even for car traffic.
Orange (amphitheatre, triumphal arch), Arles (amphitheatre, obelisk), and Nîmes (amphitheatre, Maison Carrée) are famous for their Roman-era excavations and monuments.
Don’t miss the unique Pont du Gard, part of a former aqueduct running from Uzès to Nîmes. This aqueduct has been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.
The Middle Ages: The City of the Popes, Avignon, on the Rhône, is definitely worth a visit.
Castles and palaces: There are a multitude of beautiful little villages—mostly mountain villages—with castles and palaces in the region. A small selection:
Crestet (Le Village with a castle) Entrechaux (chateau) Grignan (chateau) Suze-La-Rousse (chateau) Le Barroux (chateau) Vaison-La-Romaine (medieval quarter, castle ruins)
Weekly markets: The weekly markets in Vaison-La-Romaine (Tuesday) and Nyons (Thursday) are not to be missed. It’s an experience!
Miscellaneous: In June, July, and August, it’s worth taking a trip to the Sault Plateau, home to the famous lavender fields. You have to see and smell it for yourself!
The scenic drive along the Gorges-de-la-Nesque is worth a trip of its own; on the way back from Sault, take the D942 near Monieux towards Villes-sur-Auzon.
The Abbaye Notre-Dame de Senanque on the D177 from Gordes to Venasque is famous and absolutely worth seeing. When the monks sing with their wonderful voices, it gives you goosebumps.
In Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, the Sorgue River rises in the famous spring grotto.
The grape harvest takes place in September (usually beginning around September 15). Throughout the vineyards, grapes are harvested both by machine and by hand; there’s a constant bustle at the estates and cooperatives, and on the roads you constantly come across harvesters and tractors.
