The Badstube Alpine Cabin
The Badstube Alpine Cabin is a particularly cosy and lovingly furnished log cabin equipped with a HOT POT (for a fee) and a sauna cabin —the perfect place for peace and relaxation in the heart of nature.
The cabin features a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, a sleeper sofa, a bathroom with a shower, and a toilet. Upstairs, you’ll find three small rooms that can accommodate up to 6 guests. Amenities include running water, a stove, and a sauna heater; both the HOT POT and the sauna heater are wood-fired. You’ll find firewood for these heating sources right in the adjacent wood shed—and, of course, you’re welcome to gather kindling in the surrounding forest for a campfire.
The alpine hut is intentionally equipped without Wi-Fi or electricity so that you can fully focus on the peace and seclusion. Power banks are available for charging cell phones.
A cool earthen cellar is hidden behind the wood shed and offers plenty of space for your supplies. It’s especially convenient that you can also place lockable containers in the water trough to keep your food cool. The alpine huts (our Leebhütte is just a 15-minute walk away) are located at about 1750-1800 metres above sea level and are nestled in the gently rolling Nockberge Mountains, right at the foot of the Kaiserburg.
If you cross the ridge during one of your hikes, you’ll find the Walderhütte, which is staffed. A little further away is the Geigerhütte. In addition, from the Kaiserburg mountain station, you can easily reach the famous World Cup resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim, where you can also relax in the thermal baths—a short trip down to the valley by gondola is always worth it!

Families, couples, and friends can discover the rhythm of nature: feeding animals, gathering herbs, sitting by the campfire, or simply marvelling at the surroundings. In winter, tobogganing fun begins right outside the door; in summer, blooming gardens, the Biosphere Park, and over 100 Kärnten Card experiences invite you to explore.

Badstube Alpine Hut
The Badstube Alpine Hut is a charming log cabin furnished with great attention to detail. It features a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area, a bathroom with a shower, and a separate toilet. Upstairs, you’ll find three small rooms that can accommodate up to 6 guests. The cabin has an ample supply of fresh drinking water, but there is no electricity or Wi-Fi. The stove and the sauna heater are wood-fired. You’ll find wood for the stove in the adjacent woodshed—and, of course, you’re welcome to gather kindling or collect firewood for the campfire yourself.

On-site costs: Bedding is included for stays of 7 nights or longer. For shorter stays, please bring your own or book it as an add-on for an additional fee. Guests are asked to bring their own towels. This way, you’ll be well-prepared and can feel right at home from the start. Pets are welcome here—please bring your own dog blanket. A flat fee of €10 per day will be charged. Booking & Cancellation: Free cancellation is possible up to 12 weeks before arrival. After that, a 90% cancellation fee applies if the holiday rental cannot be re-rented. A 40% deposit is due within 7 days of booking. The balance is due by the day of arrival via bank transfer or on-site. Please be respectful of nature, animals, and people on our alpine pastures—keep your distance from grazing livestock, close pasture gates, and stay on the marked trails.
