About the host

Hosted by Silvia Mendes-Morriello

Host profile image
I’m Silvia, originally from the U.S. and now dividing life between Portugal and the beautiful California desert. I love gardening, cooking, and creating warm, inviting spaces for families and friends to enjoy. Hosting gives me the chance to share that sense of comfort — offering guests a thoughtfully prepared home that feels peaceful, welcoming, and perfect for memorable desert getaways.

Why they chose this property

The home sits in a calm, friendly neighborhood that feels like a quiet retreat in the middle of Indio. Mornings are peaceful, with soft desert light and neighbors out for relaxed walks. What I enjoy most is the balance — you’re surrounded by nature and still just minutes from everything you need. Great restaurants, grocery stores, and hiking trails are all close by, making it easy to explore, dine, and stock up without ever feeling rushed. It’s a place where families can unwind, enjoy the outdoors, and feel completely at ease.

What makes this property unique

This home offers a rare blend of comfort, style, and natural beauty. Set within a secure gated community, it gives guests a sense of calm and privacy that’s hard to find in vacation rentals. The backyard is one of its most special features — a peaceful outdoor space with a sparkling swimming pool and relaxing spa, surrounded by papaya, lemon, and orange trees that create a fresh, fragrant atmosphere families love. It’s a place where guests can unwind, enjoy the sunshine, and feel completely at ease in a setting that’s both beautiful and thoughtfully designed.
